After some revisions and whatnot, my final list is:
Castlevania III
Donkey Kong Country 2
Contra
Rocket Knight Adventures
Metroid
NiGHTs Into Dreams
The Legend of Zelda
Mega Man 2
Illusion of Gaia
Super Mario Bros. 3
I removed some of the lengthier ones and shuffled things around a bit. Gonna start on this tomorrow!

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - make your lists!
So I just beat Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes tonight.
The game took just over 30 hours. Not a bad length for a DS game.
If you like the match 3 in a row puzzle games and Shining Force, you need to check this game out.
Next I will be playing Cave Story with Noise (even though it seems as if he is done) and next week during my "work" day I will start Beneath a Steel Sky. I'm hoping that I can beat BSS in a couple sittings or less while I play Cave Story on my DSI in the evenings.
Classics
1. Shatterhand (NES)
2. Sonic CD (PS3) I started but stopped on the electricity level
3. Final Fight (PS3 or Mame)
4. Cave Story (DSI)
5. Shadow of the Ninja (NES) only if I beat Shatterhand first
6. A Castlevania Game (Portrait of Ruin possibly)
7. Beneath a Steel Sky (PC)
Not Classics that I want to beat before summer ends
8. Clash of Heroes (DS) COMPLETE 5/31
9. Captain America: Super Soldier (PS3) I started it so I should finish it
10. Ben There Dan That & Time Gentlemen Please (PC) started but now have a new PC and no save file
Bonus: Xenoblade (Wii) The end of 2012 is a realistic goal, but I will keep working on it this summer.

I am now almost at 5 hours into Final Fantasy IV
I saved right before getting on the boat for Baron. I figured that was a good stopping point for the night. I'm still enjoying it so far and I'm looking forward to finishing it, but I'm getting curious of how long this game is. I was looking at the other save files on my cart and the slot before mine clocked in at over 50hrs and the one before that said 680
I know that last one's kinda extreme, but that 680 just got me curious

I played through this last year and was very pleasantly surprised. The aesthetic and game design seem low budget, but the game is very nicely polished and the battle system is clever, and a lot of fun. I'd recommend it to people, especially at the low price you'll pay for it now.SpaceBooger wrote:So I just beat Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes tonight.

I don't think so? I have a jetpack (or booster boots, is that what you meant?), but I don't remember upgrading it. To be honest, I use the powered up machine gun aimed down to fly around more than I use the jetpack.sabrage wrote: Did you get the "good" jetpack?
Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - make your lists!
I didn't see this thread before, but I've been kinda doing this.
Most of mine aren't classics though; the majority are games released last year that I hadn't even had time to start yet. And I didn't keep it down to ten, I think it's like 15 or 16. I guess I'll follow the thread's rules next time. Anyway:
Xenoblade (so it was new when summer started. Totally worth it)
Sonic Generations
Skylanders
Sonic 3 and Knuckles
Uncharted 3
Mass Effect 3
Rayman Origins
Bit.Trip.Complete
Soul Blazer
Gravity Rush (when it comes out)
Parasite Eve
Sly 3
Skyrim
Arkham City
Dark Souls
Working my way down the list, I'm on Rayman and Bit Trip right now. It's been a great summer so far. Xenoblade has probably been the highlight, though finally sitting down and going through Sonic 3 was a fantastic time.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - have you started
I'm fighting (presumably) the last boss in Cave Story. That evil girl that floats, y'know? She is destroying my ass. Any advice?
