I'm still having problems making a Genesis cart. I'm very curious now about donor carts
Did you skip over my post regarding the homebrew flash cart?
Or is this technically not feasible for some reason. I know
at least one person that has successfully made several Sega
Genesis repros, including Mega Man: The Wily Wars. Perhaps
it would be worth trying to contact him and ask a few questions.

No, I saw your post. And that wasn't the first time I've seen that flash cart either. The problem with it is that the Genesis uses 16-bit mask ROMs/EPROMs/what-have-you and that guy is using two 8-bit EPROMs in place of a 16-bit, so it just further complicates the matter.

Thanks... Hope I didn't seem too pushy. Just wanted to make sure you saw it. At least I understand how this technique would probably just complicate things in this case. Still, an interesting project in my opinion.

Honesty, I'd rather just buy a flash cart from Tototek. The Genesis flash cart is only $60 right now, and it has more features than the project cart you linked.

I'm aware of that, but I thought maybe the technical aspects as well as the schematic might help you out. Also, I wonder what the total cost was to build that home-brew flash board?

Some pics for fun...

Damn Tom Thumb had to write his stupid name on my cart!

Well if you count time as money, a lot more than $60 I would say. It would take a lot of time to make and assemble that PCB. Not to mention you can only put one 8Mbit game (or two 4Mbit games) at a time on it. Not to say that's a terribly bad thing, but that's what its limits are. So Bare Knuckle 3 is out, and you'll have to reflash your chips every time you wanna play a different game.
The flash cart for sale from Tototek can handle "up to" 31 games (40Mbits worth), it can also handle 32X games and has built in Game Genie code function. I'm not knocking the project flash cart, I love things like that. But I'm just saying, if I wanted a flash cart for Genesis, the one from Totetek far better.

Wow, so I'm not the only one who's having you do Bahamut Lagoon. Nifty.
Btw, I beat the copy of SD3 you did for me over Christmas. Absolutely no problems with it. And it was so much fun playing on my big TV with my SNES controller in hand.

I assume that custom copy of Terranigma has that NTSC 60Hz hack applied?
Is so, I'll have to snag myself a copy someday.
Great looking work there =)

Nope, you are lol. Those are all my carts (except for Star Fox 2). Though I don't know if I'm gonna keep Bahamut Lagoon. I have no desire to play it, not now anyways. I just needed games to test out the new method. I was thinking about erasing that chip and making it a Mega Man & Bass cart instead. But who knows, maybe I'll just leave it and eventually play it.

Glad to hear. I loaned it to a friend of mine and he played through it twice. I've yet to play it though.

Tell me about it. I can't stand playing a "long-term" game in an emulator. I had such a good time playing through Star Ocean. I'm looking forward to playing more repros,
once I have the time anyways.

Yup.
