There is NO save file on your 360 hard drive for this game. I guess it just saves to your profile. So if someone loses their data or their hard drive crashes, they are stuck
I think it saves with your gamer tag. I know that when i have friends play, they can't play my guys who are already leveled up. It doesn't look like you can back up the game, but it does fit on a memory card, so you can bring it places.
This is actually a huge turn off for me and I don't intend to put any more time into the game. I was going level up some guys, beat the game with everybody, etc. By why bother? Lets say the game is saving and you have one of those random power outages. This happens in my neighborhood every now and then. Well now your data is corrupt. For any other game it wouldn't be an issue because I make copies of saves on seperate storage devices, but you can't do that for Castle Crashers. So there is nothing protecting all that hard work you put into the game.
Viva Pinata games are like this too. Can't copy your main save which has your levels, awards, etc. This just shows game companies not really giving a crap about consumers and I don't like this. I remember one of the Mortal Kombat games on the PS2 also did not allow you to copy saves. I know companies have stupid reasons for this. Oh we don't want other players downloading copies of saves. You know what? I don't care. Letting people backup their saves is more important than trying to stop a few people from cheating. Priorities people.
CC is a great game though, but it's hard to get motivated to do all that extra stuff when it's so easy to lose
