I had TG-16 when it came out, and I loved it.

I think I've only owned three consoles at launch, one of which was the Virtual Boy. Indeed. That's the only console I've ever had remorse over, though I did repurchase one about six months ago (as I had never sold the games - just the system).

The other two launch systems were Dreamcast (hurray for that) and Wii (eh). I bought a Saturn from a friend just months before it was canned in the U.S. Just in time to buy Shining Force III and Panzer Dragoon Saga. 8) In fact, the Panzer Dragoon Saga was returned to the store - I think I picked it up for $40.

Yeah - had to chime in on this one.

When I was in college and broke I ran across a brand new Dreamcast in a Goodwill for 100 bucks. I got really into the games, and loved playing all the early stuff. I really got into it when games like Alien Front Online and PSO came out - and playing over the 56k modem was a blast. I was really excited for Propeller Arena - and I remember when the news came out that they stopped the DC production, I was pretty bummed. I had hoped that all the games I was buying (and encouraging others to buy) was going to save the system! Ha!

I don't consider it a failure, (It's got nothing on the CD-i) but I did get the Dreamcast when it launched. However, I didn't have remorse over it for even a second. I enjoyed that son of a bitch, and I didn't care what my friends said. It still gets played. While they were eagerly awaiting their "DVD Player that can play crappy games", I was enjoying a real console. Keep your damn FantaVision. I got Power Stone, Marvel vs Capcom and Jet Set Radio, bitches.

There are a few failed systems I really want to get, though. Neo Geo Pocket Color, 3DO and Jaguar are definitely the top three.

My first ever video game console was an atari jaguar my father bought for me when he a had a trip to san francisco in late 1993. I remember all my friends being impressed and awed at the jaguar as it wasn't released nationwide yet in 1993 if i remember correctly. The games were incredible to me at the time=). I stopped playing it in late 1994 when my family got me a 3D0 for christmas ,then i started playing it again when the Jag Cd came out. I thought the jag Cd was so awsome.I even got into a fight with a Playstation lover at my school over which was the better system. I now realize that playstation has a much better selection of games, but at the time i was young and loved my jag. To this day i still have my jag+CD combo and both work really well. My 3DO still works fine also...the same can't be said for my original playstation=).

I'm sorry, this story made me laugh. Started with a Jag, then the 3DO. The only way you could have done better is to have gotten a CD-i after the 3DO.
