Yeah, I remarked earlier in the thread about how I didn't want to pay $58 for it. I just checked ebay. Wow...LoneCynic wrote:I held off on buying this one for now because of the price tag. $45-$50 is about where I'd cap out on paying for an import DS game.

Does anyone think that this game is worth 130 dollars? I was thinking about picking it up but for that kind of money it better be freaking amazing. I could see spending the money if and only if its the best portable shmup (not including psp emulation) out there. so can anyone enlighten me?
Re: Ketsui Death Label (DS)
No. It's divided up into courses and mainly a boss rush. It's not some big, epic, legendary adventure like Radiant Silvergun or Einhander.toredauei wrote:Does anyone think that this game is worth 130 dollars? Youtube has some reviews (some scathing!) about Ketsui DS. You can see it in action for yourself.
Re: Ketsui Death Label (DS)
JESUS! $130?!?!?! When did this game become so expensive? I got it a while back for about £30, but I guess now it's out of stock everywhere the price has skyrocketed which is a real shame as it's one of the best portable shooters ever, despite being on the DS and despite being 'just' boss-rush. The chaining system is very deep and as such chasing & improving scores is the main draw of the gameplay, also it's highly addictive and suprisingly not hampered in any way by the capabilities of the DS - the graphics are smooth enough to see whats going on and there isn't any unintended slowdown. The best way to describe Ketsui DS is as a bullet hell trainer - it's not a fully featured shmup, but it is perfect for a quick dose of bullet hell action here and there.toredauei wrote:Does anyone think that this game is worth 130 dollars? I certainly wouldn't reccomend paying $130 for the game, but I would reccomend purchasing a much cheaper DS Flash Card and downloading the game for free - unethical maybe, but $130 is taking the piss for a release less than a year old.

At least some comfort can be had from the print run having ended... It's only the resellers, and not the developer getting ripped off.unethical maybe

Can we assume that a "best" budget release will eventually happen, with all the buzz around this title? You'd think the developer would want a piece of the action.bobbynewmarkiii wrote:At least some comfort can be had from the print run having ended... It always puzzled me, the restraint that Japanese publishers have when it comes to setting print runs. I guess it keeps the market a constant frenzy!
