I agree, this is serious progress for the big N. I'm hoping this NES Classic takes off and we get other variants from past hardware as well. Hell Nintendo could make genre specific classic boxes even.

Just wanted to quote that. No special reason.

This might seem an odd choice, or repetitive, but for A LOT of people - this is exactly what they are looking for:

-Doesn't require the knowledge of how to download roms
-Doesn't require a PC
-Doesn't require complicated setup
-Is 100% legal
-Takes minimal space
-Low pricepoint
-OG style controllers WITH another function

This is a home run and perfect for people who don't know how, or want to know how to get these games by other means. I don't even know how to buy a game from the virtual console - I don't want to know. This is perfect. Plug and play - done.

-Want just these 30 specific NES games with no interest in any others.

I love this. The console and packaging look amazing, the games included are top-notch, the controller is really neat, I'd preorder if I could. Like, even though I have nearly ten times the amount of NES games included in this bundle, I'm getting it the first chance I get. Nintendo gets a win for this one.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed that Wisdom Tree - which is still in business, BTW - releases an unlicensed console with 30 AVE, Color Dreams, and Tengen games on it. That would be so amazing!

Would this be the birth of a second fifth generation of consoles? Also, hell yes I unironically agree.

I was genuinely interested until I saw this. This could have been a golden opportunity for Nintendo to super charge their virtual console implementation but once again they drop the ball...
