Yes, But people are still making it happen. I have heard building restrictions are the hardest thing to get by, some people put them on wheels to get by this. I would love to buy a bunch of property somewhere and make a mico community and use it as a test community to see how it operates. What if you are outside city limits, do you think the restrictions are the same there?

Yes, because you're still under county and state regulations. It depends on where you live, but in some cases there are statutes concerning a limit to the number of structures allowed on a property of a particular size.

Not saying it's not an interesting idea. Just saying you may need to dig a bit deeper if you want to avoid all legal issues.

Yea I completely understand, I heard something about the house has to be larger than 600sqft in order for it to be considered a home. I will have to just look into the process a little more.

I live in an unincorporated area of rural TN and the county said no go. Like I said, you can get around some issues with coding by using a utility house as the residence, but even with that you wont be able to have more than a few trailer houses on the property. In my county, you are allowed to have three "home trailers" on it before it becomes a trailer park and gets rezoned commercial.

However I have lived in a sub 300 sq foot house for year. I could lay on the couch and cook on the stove. Its fun for a bit, but I hope you dont own anything. Being that you are in the military you are use to living out of a bag. But it gets old when you cant inventory your tools because you dont have any space. Or you cant open up a pc without putting it on the stove or bed.

Don't worry about it, you're good. They are just messing with you. The topic has wandered from Apple to communities of tiny houses, it is like my Netflix documentary queue. You have to admit that it warrants a little ribbing. Once everyone sees that your intentions are to have thoughtful discussions, you won't have any problems.
