Poll: Least original game plot

the rescuing a kidnappee is for sure a lacklustre plot device, but look at games like Braid taking something like that and providing at least a fresh coat of paint on it. Maybe it's more of a Shyamalan twist more than an update, but still.

^^That and walking into random peoples homes without knocking, bugging them with stupid questions, and then stealing anything that isn't a tied down background object (chest treasure, items in pots, drawers, etc.)

I see that and remember this video: (RPG Heroes are Jerks) (Honestly the first two options in this are valid and over used it just seems like most games attempt to put a twist on it and fail miserably)

One plot that I'm seeing more and more often and which utterly annoys the shit out of me is games set in a multiverse or time travel. It just makes the game so much more freaking confusing and totally shits all over the story line which becomes so mixed up and pointless that it might as well not exist.

Edit:

More specifically ones that involve that plot device to produce a sequel, converge all stories to one ending, or revive dead characters annoy the hell out of me. Games with multiple endings all of which are considered canon stares at Drakengard are the worst.
