I'm attempting to pre-order all of them. I was a little late on Amazon, and missed two. Tried getting them through gamestop who didn't fulfill the order, but charged me, twice. :|

All 12 are still available for pre-order on Amazon.ca...including the "Wii Fit Trainer"?! That has to be the lamest thing I've ever seen - were there really not enough Nintendo characters to choose from? Why not Luigi, Bowser, Boo?

If only I had the money I'd pre-order them...pretty sure I won't b eable to do it in 2-3 weeks if preorders are really going that fast...

It won't ship to me, It's not worth the multiple hoops I would have to jump through when these won't be that hard to find when they actually release. I can just go down the street and grab the ones I'm missing.

I imagine the only reason why those figures are even sold out on Amazon.com is probably because you can't really order them anywhere else yet.

Thoughts:
Bowser and Boo wouldn't make sense currently, these are figures they showed at E3, the only ones missing from that showing are Zelda and Pit. I would imagine those have a higher likelihood of hitting retail prior to any other secondary characters. Maybe they'll be in a second series next year?

If you notice, the first smash series figures they're showing don't include any villains, and only include playable characters.

I would think if these do well, we'll see all the fighters in smash have figures and maybe some trophy functionality as well.

Nintendo did emphasis when talking about amiibo that they placed no minimum or maximum figure size on the specifications. So, it leaves it wide open.

As to why were these characters chosen, it's probably just because these are the characters that were focused on regarding smash and Nintendo owned.
