I had another idea for an interesting game.

Image

A cave exploration game.

Lots of professional and amateur cavers and spelunkers can take go-pro cameras and scanners. They can take information about the caves and have it changed to rift images.

Would be a cool exploration game. Go to places that normal people cant. See details and things that may not be accessable to the average joe/jane.

Of course once you have the data you can manipulate it into a cool FPS game or horror game with it. Kinda like the movie THE CAVE.

It can be both educational and entertaining.

I agree this would be awesome. Doubly awesome if it included underwater cave diving as well.

I designed a rig for this a few years ago. it was a carbonfiber octogon, with eight gopros and a set of led lights that ran around it. Its main purpose was to get pictures in 360 at events, like ball games or fandom conventions, but spelunking was the primary purpose in my mind. You could load the footage up and do a 360 pan, but I ran into one major issue.
I could not find a cave system that would allow me to test my pvc mockup in. Tourism and all. I was looking at Mammoth Cave in KY, since it is a huge cave system and alot of it is not open to the public. But I got shot down on every attempt with the parks department.
