Hmm, I thought the dups were included.

I don't doubt there's $100K+ here, maybe much more depending on the percentage of sealed games.

What do you think the reserve is? I would guess $72K may not be enough...

EDIT: Listing says 25% are sealed...

@ needing more info- I can obtain the information on condition and what is sealed etc. If I can convincing him that you have a serious group that will end up with a top bid, he may even let me take pics of things like all the Saturn, SNES and obscure CIB stuff. In my next convo with him, I am hopeful that he may share the reserve price with me, in which I could share with Mike/whoever heads this all up via PM.

Long shot, I know... But it doesn't hurt to ask.

ps. BOY do I LOVE being IP banned twice trying to make a post and losing it

11000 items. Possibly 12 people. Is the curator going to donate the hours and hours of time for free? The 1200 John and I had was like having an extra full time job those first 2 weeks and this is nearly 10 times the amount.

...but we aren't selling, we're buying. We wouldn't require testing of 11,000 games. The list is documented by Guinness (per the article cha cha linked in the other thread) - so we just part it out off of that. Obviously we'd do physical checks of the higher end stuff to ensure it's there, but aside that, it's move it all from his place to our temporary location, and divvy out the 12 lists. Lots of time, sure, and the group would compensate that person a fair rate.

I did a lot of 180 w/s1mple and noise - it took about 30 minutes to lay it out and photograph it, then 15 mins per box to load them up. So, an hour of my time at 180 games. We wouldn't even need to lay it out and photograph, just build boxes based off these lists, but let's say an hour for 180 games. This is 65x that size, so I think a good ballpark of time is 65 hours over a few weeks. Let's say it's cha cha who helps us out, we pay him $25/hour for his time to divvy and ship we'd be looking at $135 apiece ($1,600 fee divided by 12). More than reasonable I think. With shipping and that fee, you'd be looking at total of $6,500~.

All this said, unless we get some more very interested people, this is all for naught.

My biggest thing with this is I would rather see the collection as a transfer of ownership, be rest assured if I had the funds I would scoop the lot and take the title. King Scoops had a nice sound to it.

Up to $92k and the reserve still isn't met. Not sure there are deep enough pockets around here to want to round-robin a mess that large for that much cash.

For a gamestore w/capital it might make a lot of sense. Out of my range now - not enough room to get enough investment back; better off spending 6K on specific stuff you'd want at this point.
