OK, lets get serious, with some genres that we haven't really had represented yet too:

Darkstalkers:
Image
Fighting game with monsters.
Saturn/PSP/PS1/PSN/Arcade

Fear Effect:
Image
Action game with survival horror like controls and some creepy enemies. Cool art style. Caused some controversy back when, and not for the horror elements...
PS1/PSN (PSP, PS3, Vita?)

Koudelka:
Image
Gothic RPG game with horror overtones.
PS1 (but playable on PS2 and PS3 aswell!)

Castlevania: Rondo of Blood
Image
Classic (non-metroidvania) Castlevania at it's best. Much more available now then once upon a time.
PCE-CD, SNES(sorta), Wii VC, PSP

Master of Darkness
Image
Sega's take on 8 bit Castlevania!
Master System, Game Gear, 3DS VC

I don't see anything wrong with this list... i started playing koudelka this month and i can say i really liked so far. Fear effect are two games i been wanting to try out.

But here's some adventure horror games:

Clock tower series (Super Famicom, PS1, PS2)

The white chamber; is for PC only but you don't need a high end PC to play it. And is FREE.

Sanitarium, again PC but if your pc can open a web browser you can run this.

Eternal Darkness, anyone?

I played Eternal Darkness recently, so I'm not really interested in it. I have been close to starting Rondo of Blood, so I wouldn't mind supporting that.

I've had it for months and haven't even started it, but it won't be popular with the "one-port/expensive" crowd, sadly.

Point taken. You'll see why I suggested it if you pop that bad boy in and run through a couple of stories on it.

What about Manhunt, then? It was a gory Halloween-themed Metal Gear with more emphasis on deciding whether to use glass or piano wire to murder psychopaths than puzzles. It's south of ten bucks on Windows, PS2, and oXbox.

If you're going to pick a horror themed stealth game (that's not an actual horror game atleast), then there's only one option

Two words: Shalebridge cradle, scariest level of all time 8)

A horror RPG double feature would also be neat

Not to mention that Project Firestart+Sweet Home combo
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

@AJ wasn't it Fear Effect 2 that caused the controversy? I think 1 was just standard fare .. I could be remembering wrong.

Perhaps. From what I understand Fear Effect 2 played the controversy more, but it's nothing that wasn;t prevalent in the first game.

I remember liking it in the day, I'd +1 it. Also +1 for Phantasmagoria.
