Same. How they can justify that price tag for what you get, I just don't know...noiseredux wrote:if that was less then $100 I'd be strongly considering buying it right now...isiolia wrote: Speaking of licenses and marketing tactics....

Even if it were, I don't like the Japanese layout with the small space bar/etc.noiseredux wrote: if that was less then $100 I'd be strongly considering buying it right now...
As mentioned though, it uses Topre switches...which would make it a ~$250 keyboard even without any branding.

Oh it does? Thought you meant it was same price as a topre switch keyboard . Makes sense then.isiolia wrote:Even if it were, I don't like the Japanese layout with the small space bar/etc.noiseredux wrote: if that was less then $100 I'd be strongly considering buying it right now...

Re: Gaming keyboards - I don't think I get it?
So many posts in this thread already, but my 2 cents are:
It all comes down to personal taste, i dont give a shit about mechanical keyboards, i also dont give a shit about arcade sticks, because i grew up using a controller for fighters and arcade games and so it feels more comfortable to me, arcade sticks just feel awkward.
Also didnt we have a mechanical keyboard thread already? and who pays $300 for a keyboard? the most i would pay for a keyboard and thats if i had the money would be like $150ish and that would be for a Filco.
I have a $40 Razer Arctosa Membrane keyboard, and it suits me great!

Re: Gaming keyboards - I don't think I get it?
alright, so there has been explanation as to how a keyboard is considered a "gaming keyboard."
JM also mentioned why a certain mouse would be considered a "gaming mouse" (he mentioned the extra hot buttons). I've also noticed that gaming mice seem to mostly be bigger than the usual 'office' mouse.
BUT WHAT THE HECK is a gaming mousepad????

Re: Gaming keyboards - I don't think I get it?
What's a larger group of computer users that actually care about how well their mouse tracks on the desk? Or really, that has a particular interest in mice, versus just buying a laptop or tablet.noiseredux wrote: BUT WHAT THE HECK is a gaming mousepad????
With optical mice (particularly), you rarely even need a mousepad unless the surface of your desk/table/whatever just happens to be something that causes issues with the sensor. With ball mice, it was a bigger deal because you wanted something it'd grip consistently and all that.
That being said, a nice mouse pad + keeping the little Teflon pads on the bottom of the mouse clean tends to make things smoooooth. Not like a Steelseries pad (or whatever) is actually all that pricey either.
If there are differences, it'd be that "gaming" mouse pads tend to be larger, with a focus on performance (enhancing tracking, sliding, etc). Most others tend to be a way to put a picture/company logo on your desk more than actually filling a function.
