No all my games/systems are taking up 'A' bedroom. All my other hobbies are taking up space in different places in the house. I have a now quite large record collection and record player in the living room. All my paintball markers n gear is taking up a large portion of the basement. The garage has my quad and motorcycle - plus gear. So losing a little to keep the a lot is fine with me lol.muhanad wrote:Oh I get it now, it makes sense if your taking up the whole houseMulishaSoldier929 wrote: my 'hobbies' take up a lot of the house and the entire garage, so myself losing some games is not a huge loss in the long run of things.
I'm leaning on keeping my NES also. Too many memories and its an instant favorite when friends come over.. Maybe its just me, but the OP made it seem like it was just one room.
Maybe you could keep all of your systems in a box in the garage, and three inside plugged in. I don't think she would mind if you had one box with some systems in it stored away in the garage.
So if you could only keep 3 game systems.....

If she's you're fiance and she loves you, and you're still taking care of responsibilities and not letting your collection get in the way of that; then why would she want to take something away from you that makes you happy?

Well my reasoning is when ever I go to yard sales or something and mention i'm looking for video games some mom pulls out her kids grimy DS and all their really kiddish games like Dora the explorer or something. Same with the Wii. The DS and Wii is like...ugh...not video games. It's CASUAL GAMING. For kids and old people who think that stuff is video games. Or familys.muhanad wrote:WHAT? That makes no sense. Where is the reasoning that makes playing a DS not count as gaming?GirlGamer55 wrote:I don't think playing on a DS even counts as gaming.
I mean i'm not saying anything against his wife it's just...that's not really gaming in my book.

You have no clue what you're talking about.
Older. Not wiser.
Re: So if you could only keep 3 game systems.....
I was thinking the same thing but to be fair the DS and Wii are pretty well known for massive shovelware, like way more than any other console ever has been. So in a way I can see what they're saying.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Am I actually reading this? Here? On this forum?GirlGamer55 wrote: The DS and Wii is like...ugh...not video games. It's CASUAL GAMING. But to say it's not gaming is a pretty big stretch and ignoring the pretty solid amount of great games that the libraries do offer. DS in particular, being an RPG juggernaut.

-.-...Yes and you know so much about the stuff I find. I'm saying from what I see and find, I get the STRONG feeling that they both are for casual gamers. Actually I seem to even remember ad's marketing the Wii to old people and familys who think video games are the devils plaything and like wholesome crap like veggie tales. Oh and the fact my non gaming 50 something year old mother owns a Wii. So yeah...kinda know what i'm talking about here.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Am I actually reading this? Here? Thank you! I don't consider it "true gaming" I guess if I had to label it so people won't go up in arms against me...brunoafh wrote:I was thinking the same thing but to be fair the DS and Wii are pretty well known for massive shovelware, like way more than any other console ever has been. The Wii has some ok games...and the DS...eh...I have yet to actually find any good games for it. Then again i'm dealing with people who have no bloody idea what video games are, so of course I get the bottom of the crap bucket. The only good game I have ever found/gotten for the DS is that Super Mario 64 DS remake thing, but I bought it when I got my DS.
I'm a retro gamer at heart so maybe thats why I strongly dislike anything Nintendo came out with after the Gamecube and GBA. That and the Wii's damn controls have me flinging my arms all over the place like a crazy person.

But yeah, lotsa shovelware.
My three choices would be:
1. Modded Wii with NES/SNES controller adapter (anyone know if there's a Mega Drive controller adapter available?)
2. BC PS3
3. Perhaps the Saturn if you're a big fan, or other difficult to emulate consoles. The NES could be good to hold on to for nostalgia's sake, and as you say, it's fun when friends come over.
I agree with the problem of "Pirates Syndrome", where because you have thousands of roms to choose from it's difficult to stick to one game. You can either just be selective with which games you load onto your system, or make a list of which games you want to complete and stick with them.

No offense, but you don't know what your talking about (not your fault, many people think the same way as you, but it still makes no sense). I don't care how many casual people own the system or how much bullshit games it has, you can't write off the DS or Wii.GirlGamer55 wrote: The Wii has some ok games...and the DS...eh...I have yet to actually find any good games for it. Oh and you wanna talk about shovelware?? If any system has shovelware its the GBA
No whether you like it or not, the Wii has an amazing lineup of quality AAA titles. Yes, more than your beloved gamecube. I love the cube too, but give credit where its due.
-Xenoblade
-Mario Galaxy 1 + 2
-Skyward Sword
-The Last Story
-Metroid Prime 3
-NSMB Wii
-Smash Bros Brawl
-Sin and Punishment
-Muramasa
-Okami
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON!!
Did you really say the only good game for DS is Mario 64 (a port)??
-Pokemons
-Mario Kart
-Zeldas
-Professor Layton
-Castlevania
-Advance Wars
-New Super Mario
-Mario and Luigi RPGs
The point is, just because you see some bullshit games, doesnt mean there isnt an enormous library of great titles made. The DS lived for 9 years! You bet there was good games for it!
Were mostly all retro gamers at heart. But that doesnt mean we write off newer systems.
I hope I didnt sound like I'm pissed off, just tryna make a point. And I'm not trying to attack you personally, so please don't take it that way. I am just addressing something that is false which many people beleive. (and I enjoy using question marks and exclamation points
