I have the PS2 collection and don't recall any issues. I'm in the U.S.... Although I think that's the only way I've ever actually played them. I believe I have some other anthology collection that has a metal slug game on it as well...

Thanks for boldin' that, champ.

I've said the same thing here, in the past. But everyone seemed to just try and assure me I'm wrong.

Okay, so...

I think the games play well enough, but a little slowdown never bothered me much anyways, especially since I was introduced to the series FROM the ports (also, a little slowdown reminds me of the 8/16-bit days  ).
I might not be sensitive enough to notice controller lag.
Wouldn't loading of levels decrease and lag not decrease because it depends on the actual fastness of the hardware?
dmike wrote:Everything said so far here is correct.

The Wii version has issues with controller options.

The PS2 version is the worst. Input lag is awful.
Sure the Wii version doesn't have any lag? That was the whole problem in Game Grumps: Metal Slug X.

I thought the GBA port of Metal Slug was unreleased.
Anyway, for the record I currently have Metal Slug 1 on Virtual Console and Metal Slug 3 on PS2, but the former lacks any bonus features like "Combat School" and such that you'd find in other versions.
N64/NES/FC/SNES/SFC/GB (SGB)/GBC (Black)(SGB)/FDS/Satellaview/Genesis/Mega Drive/Master System & maybe N64DD/GBC/GBA.

Metal Slug Advance exists, but I'm pretty sure it is a unique game, not a port.

Yup. Totally a standalone title.

The NGPC games are unique too, right?

If I'm not mistaken they are.

I have this. It's actually Metal Slug 4 and 5. Each game is on a separate disc and they run beautifully.

were there later revisions of Metal Slug Anthology on the ps2? Because I dont notice any input lag in mine, my only complaint is there seems to be no way to turn on the red blood. Having the enemies burst into clouds of semen kind of ruins it for me.
