Oh dear god no.
Thankfully I have already warned Ack and others about the horrors of that particular title.

Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club?
It's fine if you emulate it. If you still want to buy it, you can by the PSP version really cheap. It's an important classic and not many people have played it...probably because the original version is so expensiveBoneSnapDeez wrote:Yeah I don't know about that one... The PS1 version is rare to the point that I'd basically consider it a PSP exclusive and not everyone has a PSP.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:A flexible schedule makes sense to me too.
Then...I'd like to suggest...Valkyrie Profile...
For PS1 and PSP.
Something like Phantasy Star II would be perfect - available on Genesis, Saturn, GBA, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
I like the idea of at least one Western RPG too - so many are available on GOG and other services these days.
I'm down with Phantasy Star II, but I wonder if we should wait until Kycene finishes her translation of the remake?

Don't. It's horrible. Not in a funny or quirky way either, just straight up bad.johnny turbo wrote:Dammit. I really want to play this. I've heard so much about it.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Oh dear god no.

You mean the PS2 remake? Are there many folks out there jonesing to play it? I haven't heard much buzz about it in the States. I've been thinking about picking it up for some time, I can read the Japanese but still need to mod my PS2 Slim.Valkyrie-Favor wrote: I'm down with Phantasy Star II, but I wonder if we should wait until Kycene finishes her translation of the remake?

Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club?
please whatever you guys do dont make this game one of the RPG of the month

Otherwise you'll be having the RPG of the year Club
This game is a cruel, time waster thats oh so much fun.
But you can never get 100% on it.
Plus, I think some of you guys here may not be fans of hardcore tactics games like these.

No Saturn RPG's since emulating the Saturn is horrible at best.

If you have James Bond: Agent Under Fire, you can mod your PS2 Slim with a blank DVD and some household items.

Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club?
I thought emulating Saturn games were just fine now? And at any rate, there's no harm in picking something people don't have. Someone, somewhere, won't have an SNES or NES or Genesis or PS1 or whatever. I would have thought that most people here have a Saturn, and Nick still says modchips, so even the price wouldn't affect anything.Hazerd wrote:No Saturn RPG's since emulating the Saturn is horrible at best.
Speaking of the Saturn, s-video cables appear to be back in the store.
Also, I'm not sure how well it would work, but it might be a good idea to have two games running concurrently, or perhaps even staggered. Say RPG A lasts from January through February, and RPG B from February through March. So on March first RPG C is introduced and we're halfway through RPG B. Otherwise, concurrent ones might work to satisfy more people. Two months is a long time to keep a club active, assuming we'll have static time allotments.
