So I spent the day playing through and beating this, and I feel it's pretty good. The music and graphics are nice and the gameplay is fairly fun. I definitely feels a little low budget in some aspects though. My two biggest issues with the game were the dodgy hit detection (invincibility frames would be nice) and the item management - mainly the fact you could only carry 3 items at once - you need 5 just for the final area, so you end up taking a few trips back and forth a lot in this game.
I'm glad I played the game. I don't feel especially spurred on to try any other Dizzy games, but I definitely enjoyed it.

That's my feeling on this.

This game really didn't get a lot of love, with only 4 pages on it, but I wanted to thank alienjesus for nominating it anyway. I would have never played this game if it wasnt on TR. It might not have appealed to a wide audience, but it was like Bomberman '94 last year, not popular, but glad I played it. Fatal Fury Special I am sure will do a little better, hopefully.

No problem. I always try and keep note of any games I think would be interesting to play ready for Together Retro nominations. I'm glad I got to play a game in a series that was popular here back in the days when British gaming was kinda doing it's own thing

Yup, the pick forced me to play and form an educated opinion of the game, so no harm in that!
Just a reminder: the Genny cart is for sale on my list for anyone who missed out

I thought it was a great idea to nominate and make the list, surely hit or miss with the community but it certainly needed a spotlight on a Retro gaming site like this or we wouldnt be official. lol
Sorry I coudnt get as involved as Id like this month with discussion, but I enjoyed Dizzy as far back when I was a kid with a nes. I guess those who have spent time and cherish the game will know the deeper allure to the game that holds many few hearts, until then a still overlooked till this day classic gem excluding the genesis ver. imo.
