Re: Racketboy PSO Meet-up (All Versions)
can't seem to get my BBA set up properly. Connecting via dialup was a breeze. But I get all kinds of conflicting info on how to configure the BBA. For the record, I'm using a crossover cable into my PC to bridge my wifi connection. But no matter what I try in the settings, I just can't seem to connect. :\

I have no doubt that this is part of your issue, when I had my BBA I went straight into the router and it was all good to go. What disc are you using to configure your connection? I think I used dream passport or something like that?noiseredux wrote:can't seem to get my BBA set up properly. Connecting via dialup was a breeze. Noise, if you can pick up a WRT54G router for cheap, grab one. I got a few for free, and the most I've seen them go for is $20. Really easy to setup a bridged connection using dd-wrt. I think there's a few video tutorials that will show you how to do it. Once it's bridged, then you just need to plug in the Ethernet, DHCP will handle the rest.
Of course, I'm not fully aware of your situation or why you're needing to bridge the connection, so I don't know if this is the kind of answer you're looking for.
EDIT:
A lot of people throw them away, because their "broken". Usually the firmware is just corrupted, but you'll need to reflash it with dd-wrt anyway.

Re: Racketboy PSO Meet-up (All Versions)
I was doing it that way for aesthetics and convenience. Basically, to plug it into my router directly I need a long ass ethernet cable stretched across the room. Which is ugly. So if I do it that way I can't just leave it plugged in all the time, I'll have to just plug it in everytime I want to play.
BTW, how would y'all feel about Tuesday nights? My wife watches that Dance Moms show so I know I'm generally free on Tuesday nights

As you guys know, setting up a DC-PC server is a pain in the butt. My buddy's going to come over some time soon and help me finish this process. It shouldn't be too long.
And as long as I'm not working, Tuesdays should be cool with me.

That's why I use the WRT54G, wirelessly bridged to my phone. I have the same set-up at my Dad's house, but with a lot more devices and it's bridged to a regular old router.noiseredux wrote:I was doing it that way for aesthetics and convenience. (Although checking the Internet, they're not quite as common as they used to be...)
I can try to hop on Tuesdays, but it depends on what time.

Anyone trying to play that doesn't have a way of getting the DC online should check out http://psopalace.sylverant.net. In the downloads section he has torrents for the PC version of PSO v2 and also a very nice version of the DC version that auto connects to the sylverant server with no boot disc needed. It also has lots of other nice additions and much faster load times, especially when loading characters.
I would love me to join in but I doubt work/life would permit it right now.

I haven't gotten it to work yet, but Tues I could prob just stretch a longer cable across the room if I haven't gotten it working yet by then. This Sun is no good for me as I'm having a family gathering.

Now what ship and such are we all playing on? What is the best way to find each other?
