What are some great games from the Pacman franchsie?

Anything that is gaming related that doesn't fit well anywhere else

Pac-Pix for DS is a fun little game where you have to draw Pac-man ( and other stuff) on the DS screen, which then comes to life. You have to draw them to solve the arcadey puxxles on the bottom screen and eat all the ghosts. It's short, repetitive and simplisitc, but still decent fun.

I've been on a Pac-man kick of late, digging into the Retronauts archive and listening to their episode as well.

Started off by getting Pac-Man 256 on PS4 (also f2p on iOS) and the new Championship Edition 2 was released (it looks insane - in a good way).

I picked up the Pac-Man Collection for GBA on the WiiU VC yesterday - it includes the 1996 arcade Pac-Man Remastered Edition, which was only ever on GBA until it made the PS2/Xbox/GC Namco comp from the mid '00s. It also has Pac-Land, a puzzler from 16-bit era, that I really wanted to try. At first blush I thought Pac Mania controlled terribly on that set.

I really want to try Pac-Man Pinball now, there are so many portable pinball games that are a gap for me.

Mobile is really made for Pac-Man, but I definitely like how much faster the game progresses on console (and it was like $2.50).

I also have the GBA collection. Pac Man Arrangement was part of the Namco Classics Collection Volume 2 arcade cabinet, along with Dig Dug and Rally-X and special arrangement versions of those games.

The puzzle game is Pac Attack. Pac-Land was the 1984 side scrolling arcade game based on the animated series from 1982.

If you mean Pac Man Pinball Advance, well..... I'm not saying it's terrible but it can get pretty tedious unless you can keep the ball alive, the better stuff happens there later on, and some shots can be difficult to make.

I too listened to that Retronauts podcast

I just want to say that IMO Pac-Man Museum for XBox 360 and PS3 is a fantastic download-only compilation. It has emulated versions of 9 different Pac-Man games (some are VERY different like Pac-Land). The only real flaw is that it doesn't include Ms. Pac-Man, that's an extra $5 DLC add-on.

For me, the original Pac-Man is my go-to Pac-Man. I love the way it can be mastered by using patterns, something which is by no means easy, but at least makes getting awesome scores possible.
Ms. Pac-Man is honestly a better game. The variety of more colorful mazes, the unpredictability of ghosts, and the moving fruit: this game really does take Pac-Man to the next level.
The only other Pac-Man game I have seriously positive feelings for is Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures. It's just so casual and fun!

I'd be curious to try Pac-Man 256 but don't have a system that can play it.

Yep, Pac Attack - too much Pac-Man wikipedia'ing, the names all blended together.

I need to give the arrangement mode another shake, I didn't like the responsiveness of the game pad with it, but maybe it was operator error.

Yeah this comp is fantastic, I grabbed it on sale for a couple bucks a year or so ago.
