What exactly sucks about it? The way it plays?

The Steam version has a lot of annoying technical glitches/issues. It's not horrible but it's just off in some ways. Honestly, just pick up a copy of THPS2X if the graphics are the biggest concern. Otherwise, stick to the originals since they are better.

There's something off the same way there's something wrong about Sonic 4 when compared to the originals. The physics and gameplay don't feel quite right. And all the new tracks in the soundtrack are horrible and dont fit in the game at all, which is a problem because you cant toggle individual songs off nor does the song change when you restart the round, each song plays from start to finish .

Ah, that sucks. I don't really care about the graphics, I just thought it'd be cool to check out if it's only a $5 or $10 download. But if it doesn't play right, then I'll just pass. While I'm here, I guess I'll finally post my Tony Hawk experiences (I saw when this thread was started but never posted in it).

I remember when the first one came out. I rented it on N64 and liked it, but I didn't own it until I picked up a Dreamcast. The DC version is nice because of the enhanced graphics as well as the full audio tracks (compared to the N64 version). For years I thought the DC version was the definitive version, but I actually picked it up for N64 a few months back. I gotta say, playing with the N64's D-pad is a LOT better than the DC's D-pad! The graphics are blurry compared, and some parts of the audio tracks are missing, but I think I might enjoy playing it more on the N64 just because of the D-pad.

Anyways, I've always been a fan of the first game. I've played through it multiple times. However, I was never able to get into any of the later games. Years ago, I picked up THPS2 for DC, but I couldn't get into it. I recently tried it on the N64, same deal. I play it and think, "This isn't Tony Hawk!" and get bored. This time, I played THPS2 up to the level after the first competition. I'm just not into it. I'd rather be playing the first one, even tho I've played it a million times.

I haven't played any other TH games. A few months back, I picked up TH Ride for PS3 at a thrift store because it was only a few bucks. After I saw this thread, I was doing a little Google'ing (that's how I found out about the HD remake) and noticed that Ride got horrible reviews. Also, you're suppose to use the skateboard controller with it. I tried searching, but I couldn't find an answer if you could use it with a normal controller or not. Either way, it sounds like a bad game, so I might never try it.
