I didn't want to be all obvious

Seeing as how "The Name Is The Game"

And nobody has mentioned them yet

In 3 pages of posts

When they made some great early stuff

And even distributed to arcades and consoles games from other devs that we may not have even seen here if it were not for their efforts

May not be so prolific today

But definitely made some classics

You all know who I'm talking about

Capcom.

U.N. Squadron alone justifies that... :D

By the way, never knew U.N. Squadron had a sequel... :o

Toaplan made V-V? Wasn't V-V that game I hated for STGT this past year? I can't really remember now.

When I think Shmups, Capcom doesn't come to mind. The best CPS-2 Shmups Dimahoo and Progear, weren't actually made by Capcom.

V-V was the game that pretty much everyone hated. I thought it was rather cool, though.

Also, you gotta play Batsugun, dood. It is a popular choice for a reason.

Yes, but if it were not for Capcom licensing

1944 The Loop Master
Dimahoo
Giga Wing
Mars Matrix
Progear

and others, we'd not have them outside Japan I'm sure

It probably was  Gradius style powerup system, slow ship, tons of enemies in Stage 2, etc.
