I have to stick with the "sequels I would like to see" and say I always wanted closure in the FPS "XIII" I loved that game and it left on that cliff hanger ending, never to be finished.

I would also like to see something else in the Psyconauts universe.

The Superman being too powerful point is valid. It's why I thought The Death and Return of Superman on the Super Nintendo was a ridiculous game. However, if you can make great games about unstoppable killing machines like these guys:

you can make a great Superman game. It can be done. I think you would have to have Superman fighting powerful aliens, super villains, and robots. He can't necessarily die, but if he takes too much damage, he would need to recover, and the game treats it as if you "died." Superman CAN be hurt after all.

I do think that you would need to have various missions where he is saving people. That's part of who he is, and it's a way to provide gameplay that gets around him being too powerful since it doesn't involve direct combat.

You could also make EVERY mission be timed for some story related reason, like prfsnl_gmr was saying. So that missions don't become just about beating your enemies, which theoretically would be easy for someone as powerful as Superman, but they become about beating them quickly. That would mean using your powers strategically and knowing the layout of the levels and where certain enemies will show up

Personally, I would just write a storyline where Superman loses his powers and gradually regains them as the game progresses. It would work like an rpg where you purchase powers for him as they become available. Also, just so I can pander to DC fanboys, I'd have Batman as part of the storyline. Essentially, he'd be helping Superman deal with fighting evil with the loss of super powers. He could function as a sort of tutorial for early parts of the game where you have to learn to fight bad guys using Superman's now limited abilities. Batman could teach Clark the basics of combat and stealth that you'd have to rely on until some of your powers become available, at which point other characters with super powers would provide you tutorials on how to use them.

The game could be open world with Clark finding missions for "Superman" to take on, by doing detective work. As Supes, you could fly around the city, maybe saving random people and finding random missions in the process. The way Batman does in Batman Arkham City. These provide upgrade points for his powers

The game would also need to have an aerial combat system for dealing with powerful enemies who can fly. It's a goddamn Superman game, you need to have fun with flight. Battles in mid air would have Superman or his opponents getting knocked into buildings just like in the game Otagi.

You could also have different types of missions based on Superman's different powers. Timed races against time where you need to fly somewhere fast. Missions where you need to take out massive amounts of enemies quickly with heat vision or his super breath. Plus button mashing mini-games involving his super strength. Press X rapidly to pick up a bus full of people for example. Stuff like that.

A Superman game is easy, it's just that no developers have had the common sense to do it right yet

I've got it - all of the bad guys have boxing gloves made out of kryptonite for some reason! You can build a plot around that.
The issue with Superman is that, while he is incredibly powerful, he cannot be everywhere at once. Accordingly, the most threatening scenarios for him are the ones where the villain has simultaneously launched a nuclear warhead at Metropolis and placed Louis Lane in a deathtrap. (Also, a kitten is stuck in a tree.) Superman can easily stop the missile from hitting Metropolis or save Louis Lane (or save the kitten)...but it will be bery hard for him to do everything. I think that a Superman game that played off of this "weakness" (i.e., there is just too much bad stuff going on all at once for even Superman to stop all of it) and added in some very hard-hitting boss fights would be very enjoyable and do justice to the Man of Steel.

EDIT: Also...Crystalis 2 would be awesome...get on that SNK!
You can simulate the experience by playing the new XCOM without blanketing the world with satellites.
I'm still waiting for a sequel to Herzog Zwei.
The part of me that took German class is torn between wanting it to be called Herzog Drei and Herzog Zwei 2.
Samurai Jack: The Game by Klei Entertainment (2d beat 'em up)
When I played Muramasa I thought that Vanillaware could do a Samurai Jack game justice.

I liked Taito's Superman arcade game...but it never received a home port...I also might be the only person in the world who liked that game...

I want an immersive virtual reality game of highly imaginative, but somewhat realistic, planetary environments to walk around in. There doesn't have to be a point beyond strolling around on an alien world and observing an alien sky. I just want to look up and see several moons, or nearby worlds, or atmospheres of different colors, and have it feel real.

Oh, and this.

I'd like a Pokémon RPG-style game that allowed me to customize my character personality/choices/appearance in general, too. Or a game roughly based off of the My Pokémon Ranch concept (a virtual pet scenario with the creatures I've actually caught on my cartridges), except good.
