You can still buy the game used for $150-200, for example. Granted if you want it CIB, you're going to pay quite a bit more. But hey! Right now you can pick up a brand new sealed copy for the low low price of $1,499.99.

I love it that they have the audacity to charge an extra 4$ for shipping

Yeah I agree, I'm sure there was no reprint but I fully believe as prices started rising online they pulled all new and used copies they had, and sat on them. Now they are selling all copies for an inflated price. I am betting many of them are new and just opened so they would seem less suspicious.Exhuminator wrote:I seriously doubt GameStop did a reprint, because they would need Nintendo's permission to do so, considering Nintendo is the owner and publisher of the property. There's no way Nintendo would risk such bad PR as a "secret reprint", and also the game's not available from their own site. So I agree that GameStop simply hoarded up and redistributed their existing stock of Xenoblade to areas where the game might actually sell. $90 for a used game is atrocious sure, then again people will pay $150 for used Panzer Dragoon Saga so whatever.

Oh I absolutely do not doubt GS would do something like that. IMO they are a vile company, and that's why they haven't gotten a cent out of me in over six years now.KDub wrote:I fully believe as prices started rising online they pulled all new and used copies they had, and sat on them.

Remember that Rez PS2 got a reprint that GS simply put on the shelf as used copies a few years ago. That's how I got my copy.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles out of print?
It's false advertisement at best putting an opened new reprint on a shelf and calling it a "used game". That's misleading to the consumer, easily making one mistake the reprint for a used original edition. Which is obviously GS's intent and should be illegal. Actually I took advantage of the SMT reprints myself, but I bought them off Amazon directly. So when I got my copies they were still sealed from the manufacturing facility as they should have been. No way would I pay a premium to GS just to get a "used" copy faster and support their underhanded ways. All the same I sincerely doubt the resurgence of GS Xenoblade copies are a reprint.

I still can't believe you guys and the British are so.....well sorry, but stupid as consumers, as to accept a policy where the store can take off the wrap from a new game. I never understood the logic behind it, specially from a consumer's point of view.

Yeah...I don't buy those, but most people (i.e., people that are not obsessed with video games) don't care. I suspect that this is true pretty much everywhere...ZeroAX wrote:I still can't believe you guys and the British are so.....well sorry, but stupid as consumers, as to accept a policy where the store can take off the wrap from a new game.
