I pull them out every once in a while! I still like playing them now and then, but, I'm not in the hobby of retro games like I used to be. I kind of prefer modern games done with some retro simplicity. I pick up a game here and there though.

I've a PAL N64, the most attention it gets is a derisive sneer every once in a while.

I don't play my n64 too much. Aside from the untouchable classics, everything there has been done better somewhere else. It's hooked up for multiplayer and maybe Mega Man 64...or something.

Atari 2600, for me. The games are just too simplistic and basic when I have all these other options at my disposal. Once in a great while I might get in the mood for some Missile Command, but that's about it.

I had the same concerns after buying my Intellivision last gen, so I quickly traded it in for some PS2 games. Most pre-NES games really struggle to keep my attention, and I have no nostalgia for any of the hardware aside from Colecovision.BurningDoom wrote:Atari 2600, for me. This thread actually makes me appreciate that I never went wild with hardware collecting. There's a reason my O.G. GameBoy just sits in a drawer.

This is why I don't have anything pre-NES either. I have a couple of plug-n-plays, which are fun to kill a few minutes with, but I can't see myself actively searching for the physical system. They just don't interest me that much.Nintendork666 wrote:Most pre-NES games really struggle to keep my attention, and I have no nostalgia for any of the hardware...
That's where I keep my GameBoy. I just use the SP to play the games.Nintendork666 wrote:This thread actually makes me appreciate that I never went wild with hardware collecting. There's a reason my O.G. GameBoy just sits in a drawer.
Of course, my PSP is in a drawer too, but I take that one out and play it once in a while
Re: Anyone ever have a neglected system in thier household?
I had a lot of systems that just collected dust. I bought one third of the US library of games individually and beat none of them. So one day, I took all of my neglected systems (Game gear, genesis, OG xbox, an extra n64 I had lying around, N-gage, and PSP slim) and tried to trade them in to a local store. The dude didn't want the N-gage because 'he couldn't sell it', meanwhile he sold a god damn phillips Cd-i last month. I also waited too long to sell my psp and I am not willing to get 40 dollars on something I paid 200 for. So I walked out with my n-gage, psp, games for both, and a $560 dollar gift card.
I've also tried to sell my OG gameboy, but my mom played Joshua: battle of Jericho on it once two years ago and won't let me sell it.
Even now the GBA SP doesn't get the love it used to, and my PS2 hasn't been played in a while. My moms atari 2600 hasn't been touched in ages either.
