Buying video games, tax views

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I think Germany (a federation of states) is a good example to see about how taxes included in the prices could work.

Do the German states have different sales tax rates in each state?

This thread hasn't been on topic since page one. Do you guys actually enjoy nitpicking at each other?

I'm not sure, but the central government, the states and the municipality itself have the right to enforce each their own tax, so I think it does.

Heck I know in Greece different cities have different tax rates for foods (but not standard VAT I think), and we still have our prices portrayed to us WITH tax.

I'm sorry but I really think that it's just a trick used in the US to make people think they are spending less.

You know, I've actually wondered this in the back of my mind.

Huh? This is more on topic that most of the threads here. We are still talking about tax views, and video games are taxed (unless it is a private sale, which I'm sure gov'ts wish they could enforce tax on).

Yes, I'm pretty sure we do enjoy nitpicking at each other. Plus, we had to up the intelligence of this thread. It wasn't looking too good at the start.

Start wearing a fanny pack, carry change in it, problem solved. You know, until you realize you're wearing a fanny pack. But I have a solution for that too.

Not too bright, are we?

Or you must be joking.

Nah - that can't be it.
