That thing is ugly as shit. Remember when the slim downed versions used to be much prettier than the older ones? (specially that PSone....).

That sliding tray looks like it breaks very easily. Then again that's what the PS2slim's top seemed like too and mine hasn't broken. I don't know, I still am disappointed that it isn't even smaller. They could have taken the PSU out of the unit like with the PSone and PS2slim.

The last generation of PS2 slim was as slim as the rest while having the power supply internal. Awesome.

I love the memory card slots, nice piano back and chrome finishes, and full ps1 and ps2 backward compatibility.
Yep still love the original design of the Playstation 3!! 8)

Yes it was awesome. Its still managed to weigh less than the previous slim model (even with the PSU internally built in) and the PS1 chip is enhanced as PS1 software runs with much improved results!

I wonder how well a newly produced "classic" PS3 with the PS2 chips inside would sell now.

I have to say Sony, MS and even Nintendo now have all made dumb decisions lately.. Sony has just been an embarrassment since the ps3 era, MS abandoning most of their core audience and Nintendo killing the Wii as early as they did.. Hopefully next gen doesn't carry this bad momentum.. Atleast the 3DS is doing well now after a terrible start.. Vita is bomba status but the PS3 is selling well for being an old console now.. I have no clue why the 360 hasn't received a price cut of any kind lately.. Finally, I get this feeling that the Wii U will struggle out the gate..

With that said a small PS3 with a 500 gig HDD is intriguing.. Having a 60 gig sucks when you have to constantly do mandatory installs and digital downloads..

Since when is a 6 year run "killing it early"?

I think the Wii died mid 2011 tbh.. Had good holiday sales because ti was the cheapest console.. I think it honestly had more life.. It's just amazing how bad of a back seat it has taken to the HD twins.. And I honestly don't think Wii U will take off either..
