Yes, that's actually one of the things I liked about it. It's not too tough so you can kind have a little fun in the battles and the fairly low difficulty means that nothing is stopping you from finishing the game and enjoying the whole story.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:Jeanne D'Arc is super easy compared to most SRPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre. Give it a try
I would suggest it even to people who are not good at strategy rpgs.
Valkyria Chronicles is also a strategy rpg, but it doesn't play like a traditional one at all. It is like a hyrbrid of a strategy rpg and a third person shooter. There are some tricks you can use to make the game much easier when you hit a rough spot. You can always come to the forum if you need help. It's another game that I think is good even for people who are not normally into strategy rpgs.
Maybe give the Mass Effect games a try, no grinding or dungeon crawling at all. The Mass Effect games rely heavily on third person shooter gameplay though, but you get to use the Mass Effect equivalent of "spells" in addition to gunplay. There's is even a class devoted entirely to using these skills instead of guns. They're kind of your "mage" class. "Spells" in Mass Effect are referred to as biotics or tech skills. It's just Sci Fi words for magic. Biotics are actually kind of like using the force in Star Wars.disorderlyvision wrote:
Western rpg's are more grindy and dungeon crawly than jrpg's or is that just a misconception i have? To be honest i haven't played many western rpgs at allAny Western RPG is darker and less "emo" than the majority of JRPGs but you probably already know that...
If you enjoy Knights of the Old Republic, then the Mass Effect series and Jade Empire will be the next logical choices for you. They are from the same company. You can also try Dragon Age, but it plays better on PC.
