Probably it was second hand. My girlfriend bought a cheap 2nd hand 20GB Xbox about 2 years back. After taking back 5 different replacements because they had all red ringed, the store gave up and gave her a brand new 60GB model instead. It red ringed 3 weeks back.emwearz wrote:PS3's have there own hardware issues now, most of which Microsoft has resolved, so in reality the build is nothing to go by.benderx wrote:why should I buy an xbox 360, I've heard so much about the red ring issues that i'll take my chances with wii, ps3, ps2, dc.

You buy a $600 Playstation 3 because you weren't savvy enough to buy it online through ebay auction or going to gamestop or your local video game store and buying it used.

i bought a launch 360 secondhand and it's still going strong, same for my 80 GB PS3 fatty. Now mind you, i only game on them maybe a couple of hours per month (handful meaning 5 hours or less), yes, per month. Maybe they're still going strong due to lack of use, but no issues. I do however, have a halo edition 360 (non slim) that the HANA/scaler chip needs fixing. No rings, but no picture
I currently taking referrals for qualified repair services to help me out, so any names you can drop, it's much appreciated. But back to the topic at hand, my current gen consoles are doing quite well.

Since this is a necro topic, there is only one answer to this question.
The only reason to spend $600 on a PS3 is so that you can be like this guy.

Obviously, the problem was with his car. It gives 360's which are placed inside it RROD, apparently.benderx wrote:emwearz wrote:PS3's have there own hardware issues now, most of which Microsoft has resolved, so in reality the build is nothing to go by.benderx wrote:why should I buy an xbox 360, I've heard so much about the red ring issues that i'll take my chances with wii, ps3, ps2, dc.
I do agree, but after watching a youtube video few years ago. Some gaming dude walks into walmart or target and buys an xbox 360 and when he got home it stop working after a fews day. He returns it get another one opens it in the car. In the car he plugs it and play. He find out it bad unit. Does it a 2nd time in the car same thing red ring. This was a few years about 2 or 3. I couldn't believe how many owners had to rebuy (or get it fix) there 3rd or 6 unit. I wish i could find video
It's interesting reading through the first two pages of this thread, and seeing all these users who never post anymore. lordofduct and grittykitty hardly ever come around here these days.
