I sold a loose US Duo a couple years ago on eBay for over $200 with the sound issues and in less than perfect condition. Best of luck on your search but folks gotta realize prices on this stuff is steadily going up not down. If you really want a Duo in the condition you are describing be prepared its not gonna be cheap.

I have this sixth sense that tells me what is fair to charge for any gaming related stuff. As usual the cartel has decided on an amount over twice that.

I can wait though. One of these days the cartel will feel the cold sting of my dagger digging into the very depths of its vile back, and vengeance shall be mine.

So I'm a hoarder now? I just like hardware ... a LOT
Yeah, Blue has a lot of gear but it's mostly BROKEN! (then he lays hands on it to revive them.) I have no prob with someone hording Nuon, CD-i and LaserActive stuffs...it's when they keep a hold of 8 copies of Drac X that gets my goat.

Back to the original thread question: Can a PAL TG-16 use a US CD-ROM?

from Gamesx/NFG
... Since the Hudson chipset didn't support PAL video the PAL-TG16 had another video encoder to convert RGB to PAL, and the system outputs AV instead of RF. It uses a connector very different from the AV port found on the CoreGrafx series.
So I'd asume it would since the PAL Turbo is really a JP hack-job and would output NTSC on the expansion port. But it appears that Kami has decided to go the Duo route.

I wouldn't say that it is a hackjob, and certainly not a JP one. It is just the NA model with a different crystal, and a different video encoder. Physically the systems looks the same as what you get in NA only the plastic is in a more stylish grey than the black of NA systems.

Other than that the AV port is different as was mentioned. It is a sleek little thing and I am happy I got it instead of a banged up second hand NA unit costing about the same. I couldn't care less about the slow down either.

I hear if you exchange the crystal for the one in the NA units then it will function exactly like one. In fact I've seen people on eBay buying up those NIB PAL units, modifying them and selling them at huge premiums.

A region-free PC Engine Duo with all caps replaced is $240 shipped. This is legit.

Wow, thats an amazing deal. Thanks for the link!
