I totally did not know Star Tropics 2 was one of the last games produced.Flake wrote:Mega Man 6 and Star Tropics II for the NES were great twilight years games.
And let's not forget Kirby's Dream Land 3 for the SNES.
Hell yeah! Here's a fun thing to do: Whenever you meet someone who does not know about Kirby, describe him and his abilities but without using the words pink, cute, or dreamland. It's not a pretty sight.J T wrote:LOL! Kirby is like a cute, pink grim reaper.
Those were the last really notable games, but N64 got THPS3 in August 2002. If you're harper, I guess you would consider that to be the best version.AppleQueso wrote:Paper Mario and Conker's Bad Fur Day?Flake wrote: Did the N64 have a swan song or was it whimper time at the end?
Those are the last notable releases I can think of.
They were both in 2001, so it was after the Ps2 came out. N64 was pretty irrelevant by then.
Games that were the signal of the end? That's interesting to think about. Not every console has a specific title that I can pin that moment to, but I can think of a few.Cronozilla wrote:What about games that were the signals of the end? Every console has a gap in releases then a sudden burst of fantastic titles (The Wii is going through it right this moment) then a slight dip and those final mementos we call the swan song.
