How long does it take to beat FF VII? (first play-through)

I was pissed since I had been raising her as my mage/healer. All that work for nothing.

That's what I use Tifa for because she is a competent fighter as well as a decent mage.MrPopo wrote:I was pissed since I had been raising her as my mage/healer. All that work for nothing.
Aeris just couldn't fight. If you can't fight you don't belong on my RPG team as I tend to favor Conan/Wizard combos.

I always prefer going for big physical damage, but no matter what the skillset I always fill my team with the female teammates. I only run males when forced (not enough females/forced party member).Opa Opa wrote:That's what I use Tifa for because she is a competent fighter as well as a decent mage.MrPopo wrote:I was pissed since I had been raising her as my mage/healer. I did the same thing as Mr Popo, I had Aeris healing, since she was the only character that was blatantly not meant for physical combat.
Oddly, on my first playthrough, since I was exploring so much, I happened across her level 4 Limit Break. I thought, sweet, now once she gets there, she'll be a beast. At the time I didn't know what it was that raised Limit levels, so I just continued on. I never got to see that dammed limit break.
I somehow miss something that is impossible to go back and get in every psx final fantasy.

I don't know, focusing your characters never seemed too important to me in FFVII with materia being so flexible. I can see how it'd be logical (whoever has better stats for stuff), but yeah the game is so freaking easy, lol. The first time I played the game I just used Cloud, Red XIII, and Barret through the entire thing, haha.
Wasn't Cid's final limit break technically better than Onmislash?

It hits more times, but it takes quite a bit of work before it does more damage I think.Xeogred wrote:I don't know, focusing your characters never seemed too important to me in FFVII with materia being so flexible. Got an airship!
Getting an airship usually equals progress so I guess I'm on the right track.

I still think the funniest combo is Final Attack (I think) with Phoenix... so, you die, BUT NOT REALLY? lol.dunpeal2064 wrote:It hits more times, but it takes quite a bit of work before it does more damage I think.

Ha, yeah, that one was good to use on Ruby.
Shit, I just realized we may be spoiling later parts of the game.
