I think PS3's virtual memory cards are freeing up a lot of the physical cards these days. Most PS3 owners aren't like me: they don't play their PS1 games on an actual PS1 anymore.

I tend to play my US PS1 games on PS3 because the virtual memory is great. I just play imports on the PS2.

I'd probably play more PS1 games on my PS3 if I had the memory card adapter. I read that a certain update for the PS3 enabled the adapter to write saves back to a memory card, so you can now transfer both ways. I just wish it was a little cheaper.

I lucked out and found one at a yard sale for about a buck! It was even still boxed.

LOL, hot damn! I just checked Amazon and it's $30. Wasn't it that price when it first came out? For what it is, this late in the PS3's life, I'd really expect it to be half that price. Perhaps I'll hunt for one used. It's just too bad I don't have a PS2 compatible PS3, if I did then I'd probably would have picked up this adapter a long time ago.

I play PS1 games on PS1. Why not? That said, PS2 is the best console around. If I had to give up all consoles but one, I'd stay with the PS2. The variety and quality of games is incredible, the library is gigantic, and let's not forget the PS1 support :)

I know I should get another ps2, but they always seem to break down on me :? Most of the multiplatform games I have on other consoles, so it would have to be the exclusives that would need to convince me to pick another up.

Do you see them in store and do they still their games like in Walmart and other stores? I think I am going to pick myself one at this price, looking to find a moded one. I never owned a ps2
Wal-Mart and Zellers (Target) here still sells new PS2s. I was also lucky enough to find a modded one at a local Value Village for $13.99 in great shape w/network adapter.

If some one here sells modded chips/willing to buy a new ps2 mod it for me, I MIGHT buy it in the near future

One of the things that holds me back from getting a ps2 is that many of the good games have been ported to ps3 like God of War and MGS or are sold on PSN. I also won't be amazed when i see ps2 games downloadable for the ps4 launching within the next year or 2 max.

I also got a Wii/GameCube and an Xbox/360 , many games that were multi platform I got to play like the GTA's on XBOX and RE on the gamecube and Okami on the Wii

How well does that work? I just got one off ebay and want to use to play FFIX on both my PS1 and PS3.
