in some of the more embarassing scenarios as well.
damn it, I will get those hooligans!
There actually was one female in my guild in warcraft that was great, but every other I encountered in MMOs and in Ventrilo (voice program) was the sterotypical annoyance factor. It wasn't uncommon for raid guilds to have a no female policy because they would be annoyingly flirtateous with any geek waiting to lap it up or overbearingly motherish, which was distracting to acting as a cohesive unit snapping to order without question.
Let my legs shake me to sleep, and don't wake me when I sweat on my sheets.
Ugh I know. One time I was playing CSS and a supposed girl was on the voice chat, and said something like "Why would you shoot me?!" after I shot her. Then the male admin kicked me. I assume they went on and had a cyber session.wyatt wrote:There actually was one female in my guild in warcraft that was great, but every other I encountered in MMOs and in Ventrilo (voice program) was the sterotypical annoyance factor. Oh and:
Dear female gamers,
We don't care if you exist. We are going to treat you just like every other male gamer. If you admit to us that you are female, we will treat you worse. We play video games just to get away from you, so we are not liable for what we say or do over XBL or whatever we're playing. Go preach your equality bullshit somewhere else, we've dealt with enough of it in the real world.
Bottom line, deal with it, or GTFO.
Signed,
Male gamers.

I wonder if the girls realize that...
At least Morgan Webb knows her stuff pretty well.

She was in a wendy's commercial this summer and another one but i forget what company. Shes pretty funny, she performs improv with a group called last day of school. What a perfect girl, loves video games and is funny. Her boyfriend is really cool too though and funny, sorry guys.racketboy wrote:I thought I was the only one that noticed that...lordofduct wrote:Yey, the token hot chick, that every magazine has.bluelazergun wrote:Girl gamers do exist, i know one. I don't know if you guys read The Gamers Quarter, but her piece in the newest issue ( #8 ) about Secret of Mana is one of the best examples of writing about games that I've ever read. It's titled "Secrets and Save Points." You have to download the mag as a pdf to read it.
Others might disagree with me, because it's not really about the game, but rather about her experience playing it. (If you read TGQ you know what I'm talking about.) But I loved it. I'd recommend TGQ to retro-minded gamers.
EDIT: Sorry - just to clarify I'm talking about Heather Campbell of Play, not Morgan Webb.
