Even if SOPA goes through consumers will contiune to consume and there ain't a thing anyone can do about it because that is how it is.
Video game boycotters are the biggest bullshittters of all and they never keep to their word. People who boycotted Modern Wafare 2 bought it anyway, same with the left 4 dead 2 boycott people I know have boy cotted activision but still bought call of duty. I don't have a single bit of faith in anyone who claims to be boycotting a video game company because they think it will make a difference because it won't.

By the way I might seem negative but I do understand why people are upset about SOPA. If it went through I'd probably lose a lot of my favourite sites too and I probably wouldn't be able to watch a lot of youtube videos or watch wrestling on the internet.

With as crappy as the Internet is anymore, SOPA might be a good thing. I'm not saying I'm for it, but it would definitely help with the quality control.

As far as EA is concerned, when they failed me in Need for Speed World, I did not get on the boycott bandwagon. Instead, I do the same thing I do for Sega. I do not believe their marketing or commercial hype. Instead, I buy one of their products if I truly feel like it.

See Image dump thread, Video Link thread, actually almost every one of our threads has some type of image of copyrighted material. Not sure how any open internet forum could exist if SOPA is passed and regulated.

It won't help at all with quality control, that is completely subjective. Go watch the last few videos I posted in the SOPA thread though.

Id contend that if SOPA passed, the internet would be full of worse websites. It would be like 1995, minus any forums or chat rooms, and IRC would have a comeback.

Good god, you almost convinced me to support SOPA. The internet was so much better in the early-mid 90s. You could actually have an unmoderated discussion on USENET without sorting through miles of spam. Web pages were neat, and to the point, and usually written by academics. That was a wonderful time.
