What are Your 2012 Gaming and Collecting Goals?
Re: What are Your 2012 Gaming and Collecting Goals?
I'm mostly looking at playing and not collecting this year (around 200 games for 2011 means I now have an enormous backlog), but I would want to flesh out my Genesis and Master System collections a little better. Also, still aiming to get 8/16 bit Konami games.
Re: What are Your 2012 Gaming and Collecting Goals?
Game Blogging-related
1. Get cracking on writing more reviews/interesting articles.
2. Create some more gaming related videos along the lines of my DC VGA one.
3. Try to do some Let's Play videos that a couple people requested.
3a. Get my DVD recorder that I lent out back so I can easily record games.
Game Playing-related
1. Keep clearing out that backlog (sort of fell off the Games Beaten 2011 trail - want to stay with it this year)
2. Since Nintendo released their official "Zelda Timeline" I want to try playing the Zelda games in the order they set up and sort of see their reasoning/how they created a timeline which most of the games weren't made with the intention of having.
3. Try to play more games with advanced Japanese now that I can understand the meaning of almost 800 kanji. (Not all the Japanese pronunciations/which words they're used in, but the core meaning of the pictograph.) Any of the Japanese speakers on here know of any good games that have furigana? It's how I've been learning how the kanji is used contextually with magazines/some manga, but I've never seen it in a game.
Game Collecting-related
1. Finish acquiring all the Nintendo Zelda games (need Minish Cap, Four Swords, Four Swords Adventure, and Spirit Tracks)
2. I really want to get a Famicom+disc system and some good Famicom games, so hopefully I can get something going once I have a more secure full-time job.
3. Organize my games and my console set-up better for a nicer presentation even though my living conditions aren't ideal and try to get some pics of my collection up.
4. Try to upgrade some of my cables (Saturn/Jag/TG16 all use RF - need to rectify that)

Re: What are Your 2012 Gaming and Collecting Goals?
I want to complete my SNES Square/Enix collection. (Picked up Chrono and Breath of Fire on the 1st already)
I want to get rid of my duplicates, and see them go to someone that will enjoy them as much as I have.

You know Grant Kirkhope? Or is this someone else? In any case, I'm a huge fan of Grant's work! Will be seeing him at Magfest this year.Hyp81 wrote:A childhood friend of mine participated in creating the audio tracks for a game coming out for PS3 and XBox 360 this year, a game called Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. It is schedules for a February release date. I really want to get a pre-owned 360 in time to pick this game up and play it! We'll see if that's in the cards. Never know how finances are gonna be.
As far as 2012 gaming goals go, I'd like to play and complete at least three games from each broad genre (RPG, platformer, shoot-em-up, FPS, etc.) across all generations of consoles. Also definitely want to include a point and click adventure in there!
