Its fan made and all, but consider trying Streets of Rage Remake. Its hard for me to admit, but I have a difficult time going back to the original games after playing it. And I adore the originals.

Its that damn good.
Same here. The speed/smoothness is just too good.

I'm afraid not man, and there won't be either.

Its actually not a rom hack, but a built from the ground up PC game.

If you have a usb controller to play it with though, you're golden. :D

Know of any affordable 9 pin to USB adapters?

Well there's this one. I've thought about picking it up one of these days.

I'll be honest with you though, I use an xbox 360 controller, primarily because its zero effort, plug and play, and I already have them laying around.

It may not be authentic, but it does the job perfectly.

I already have one for the SNES, N64, and PS/PS2, but I do like the authentic experience. Besides, I have a joystick I'd like to plug in as well.

I saw that adapter, but I'm not sure I'm ok with that price when I can still use my SNES or PS2 controllers. It's also a little amateurish. I'd rather try my hand at soldering and get something like that for cheaper. If I ever find a nicely made one like this or this, I'd probably go for it though, depending, of course, on the price.

Dagnabbit kiddo, get off the interwebs and make some meatbag friends.

But on SoR, the soundtrack is enough to get me to play. :D

(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

Gonna randomly bump this (assuming CFFJR will see this heh), but would you guys recommend Sonic Chaos and Triple Trouble on the Game Gear? The first two games were awesome, and I just stumbled upon these two on youtube... they don't look that bad at all either.

Never played them myself, so I too will take this recommendation.

Ah, you rang?

Anyway, yes, I would heartily recommend trying out both Sonic Chaos and Triple Trouble.

Sonic Chaos is on the easy side, (very much so), but its good for a quick, fun romp.

Triple Trouble is definitely more difficult, especially when you go after the emeralds, but its fun and colorful and has some slick level design for a game gear title.

Triple Trouble also has one really kick ass boss act (and music to go with it) that's very memorable:

I think they're both worth playing, but if you want to pick one, go with Triple Trouble. Its certainly the better game.

I would generally advise staying away from Sonic Blast though, as long as we're on the subject of Sonic on GG. Its not exactly a bad game, but it is pretty bland.
