This is my dream Sony WEGA - it doesn't have HD output so only goes up to 480i but there is no 4:3 / 16:9 flipping. It's also 105 pounds (the 30" + guys get really heavy) and has a cool look.

It's a rarer 27 inch WEGA - KV27FV310 - has multiple component and S-video inputs and is very different in that regard to other 27 inch WEGAs (more common FS100).

+1, My local CL has a dude moving some 20" PVM's, I think we got about 6 off him and distributed throughout Wedoca members. Not all are equal, I have a composite/S-vid only model (it was free) and a "studio monitor" one that has the input board slots. The freebie is fine for 2600 and composite only junk, but the RGB on other is killer. They are good for cons because of the size and picture quality, plus it helps that they all match making the retro area aestheticly pleasing.

I rock the Sony KV-35v35 for my classic/retro. I still have the prior 27" Sony XBR downstairs just in case.

It depends on the console. PCE/TG16 they're particularly flickery since plasma updates faster than a CRT. Genesis flicker shadows look bad. NES ones look ok as I recall. Haven't done much 8 and 16 bit gaming recently, or at least not something with a lot of flickering tricks.

Same with a LCD - the worst.

Though other than flickery shadow tricks, PCE/TG16 looks really awesome even for composite.

That is nice...need some Metalica stickers on the side of the TV and some drink rings on the coffee table...then it would be the 80's all over again. Oh, and a rubberband on the remote keeping it together.
