Ugh, licensing.
It seems to me companies are protected from a lot by copyright law. But the barrels of protection they have there just aren't good enough no, no. They have to make up a bunch of licensing crap so they can write all the rules. And when people complain about some of these rules the company can say "Oh, well, you don't legally own the game anyway so shut up. We can do anything we want." I often wonder if this is really so though. I make a one time payment for something, it never goes back to its owner, and I can resell it to others with out asking anyone else about it. I can destroy it if I want to. Stores act as though games are being sold and not licenses to games. It all sounds like ownership. Surely courts would see through this little "It's only licensed" charade companies put on. For console games you don't even see this license agreement unless you've read the manual! How can that be legal?

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.
Who cares? It's just a game. Oh no, if the game is purchased used you can't abstractly project your unique personality unto it by starting a new save file... the world will end. It's a tiny piece of plastic and silicon that you can never truly call your own unless you buy it brand new.... I fail to see the issue.
And before anyone counter's with "But what about the future of gaming!?!?!" My view is that until they come for my old NES and Genesis cart's, let them DRM and use hard saves all they want. Years from now if I find RE:Mercenaries 3D for a fraction of retail price and pick it up cheap, I won't be bothered playing someone else's file. If you care that much about it support the publisher and buy it brand new.
Buy it, get high score, use FUK as initials. Repeat until all high score slots are used up. Swap out FUK for DIK, PIS, ASS, TIT, and so on. Trade game in.

They're gonna drop the price to $169.
I'm still waiting on buying a 3DS until I can see that there are plenty of good games for it, and especially games that don't pull crap like this. The future of gaming is starting to look very disappointing.

I don't understand this. If a company is doing something you don't like, doing nothing will accomplish nothing. But mobilizing and protesting might accomplish something. So why do so many people continually bitch about people bitching, if the people bitching at companies might be effective, but people bitching at people bitching is about as effective as teaching economics to Republicans.

This, except the part in bold.

Wow, I thought I was the only Republican on this board. I guess we DO have something in common after all, BoringSupreez!
