although i cant imagine diving into a pile of money and just being able to swim through it!

I haven't watched this but it sounds like Randy is not a hoarder. Collecting arcade and pinball games to the point where you have your own full size arcade is totally fine to me. I think that's actually really awesome. I'm sure many of us would love to do the same if we had enough time, money and space.
Like others have said, a video game hoarder would be someone who collects video games, regardless of their quality or how many copies you already own. Just having a massive collection of video games by itself isn't hoarding.
I probably have around 1400 games but they are all games that I want to play, and I always sell off duplicates. I also don't care about sealed games and have opened many sealed games to play them without a second thought. I think it's kinda shitty that society looks down on someone who has a large game collection. It's perfectly acceptable to have 1000 pairs of shoes, purses, coins, stamps, music CDs, movie DVDs or even 1000 cars. Even though video games have long since gone mainstream, there are still many people (mostly older people) who think badly about them.

Randy has a 20,000 sf space that is filled with pinballs/arcade machines and life-sized replicas of himself. The space is jam-packed. So he's border-line hoarder. Although he has a lot of stuff, it still seems somewhat organized. When I think of a true hoarder, I think of someone who has mounds of stuff all through the house and outside, no organization whatsoever. Their place is usually a dump.
