Re: How did you find out about Racketboy?
Got into retro games sometime in 08 or 09. Around last year my friend/classmate Swiftzx told me about Racketboy. Read the articles and stayed after lurking for a few months

I was on holiday in Eastern Europe and got extremely drunk in a bar with some locals. I woke up in a tub full of ice with a scar where my kidney used to be. Written in blood on the mirror was "www.racketboy.com", which led me here.
True story.
True story.
Mostly harmless

I don't remember who it was that referenced and linked the site (there's a pretty good chance it was AppleQueso, but again, I'm not sure) but I got here through a link from the forums on The Cover Project.
I ended up falling in love with this place in a heartbeat and signed up within the day after poking around the forum.
Funny thing is, my presence here completely removed me from cover project, and they eventually deleted my account.
I found out later it was a purge of members with low post counts. I signed up again there recently, but nothing pulls me away from Racketboy.
This site is full of good information and good people. It is far and away the best online community I've ever seen or heard of, and you guys won't be getting rid of me anytime soon.

i was on segaxtreme and migrated here with a lot of other users when that site drifted less from community retrogaming talk to more technical haberdashery.

A friend of mine needed help modding his saturn. This was the site he bought the chip off of. I lurked for 3 or 4 months before actually joining.

Awkward Sex, a name uttered in confusion, a google search done in anger, and an article about the greatest Super Nintendo games.
Yeah, I know. A story as old as the hills.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

That's what I love about the Racketboy forums. There's plenty of talk of retrogaming, but there's also quite a few gearheads as well.aaron wrote:i was on segaxtreme and migrated here with a lot of other users when that site drifted less from community retrogaming talk to more technical haberdashery.
