I envision some sort of awesome point and click adventure game with voice acting from the movie and maybe branching paths.
I'd be down for any Sam Spade story to be adapted into a game, especially the early radio serials. Sam Spade (Both the Bogart version and Howard Duff) was the man.
AWESOME. But dont stop there, make a generic Point and Click engine (or use SCUMM, 2.5d, or Telltale), and port the majority of stories into games. Episodic radio and short stories would be perfect for episodic gaming. Sam Spade, Sherlock Holmes, Aresne Lupin, even Peroit and Marple would be perfect. Think of it as one part Broken Sword, one part Fate of Atlantis, but with better voice acting and monthly releases.
Ohh I need to stop thinking.
Edit:
So I didnt stop, Dr Who could be made into point and clicks the same way. All of the Dr Who games thus far are terrible (the episodic ones from a couple years ago on the pc are the only decent ones, the DS one is a bad Layton with only a dozen puzzle types and the Wii one is just badbad).
Edit 2:
If copyright expiration is still 70 years in the US, well the Bogart Maltese Falcon becomes public domain October 3rd.

@Noiseredux:
I know exactly what you're saying because I thought the same thing and yes too many Saw games, they're probably going to have as many games as there are movies!

I post on a horror movie site and some one had posted a tournment fighter genre horror game that apparently has my dream of combining alot of the major horror icons battling it out. I believe Terrordome was the name of it? I have to go back and check because the name escapes my mind at the moment. You can down load it on your PC but I was having issues w/ mine so I couldn't get it to download. I'm not even sure if it's still availalbe because they were having copy right issues w/ using the characters. It sucks because it looks freaking awesome dude! I would finally be able to see Jason and Michael Myers duke it out!

@evildeadman,
did you know there's a Troll 2 indie game out there also??
and I swear I saw some GTA mod that put Jason Voorhees in the game. Must've been a PC-only thing I"d guess though.
(what horror site?)

OMG, I have to look for that now! Out of all the horror films they could make a game out of, Troll 2?! Too funny man. Campblood.net. It's actually a Friday the 13th tribute forum/site but everyone discusses horror in general among other topics as well, it's an awesome site really!

I was watching Legend by director Ridley Scott about a week ago, and I was thinking what a great action adventure game it would make. Just imagine it! A mysterious boy raised in the forest, clad in green, must rescue the princess from the lord of Darkness. Assisted by the true forest folk and guided by a tiny fairy, he has to find a magic sword and fight his way through dungeons full of traps! There would be goblins that look like pigs, and an ancient tree with a dungeon underneath it, and archery, and even a sequence where you sort of play tennis against the bad guy, using a bolt of magic energy as the ball!
Wait, that was Zelda 64: Ocarina of Time, wasn't it?
Okay, what about either of the two Clash of The Titans movies? It would be awesome! You'd go around as a demigod, fighting and killing gods and monsters from Greek mythology! How badass is that?
Oh, wait. God of War.
Alright, but what about Van Helsing? I know it was a crappy movie and there was already a crappy game made out of it, but it had a lot of potential to be a good game too! I mean, how could you not want a game where you play as a badass vampire hunter facing off against a mashup of every classic monster movie Universal Studios ever made? It would be...
...just ....like ...Castlevania.
Damn, I'm out of ideas.
