I had Bloody Tears as my ringtone for a while on my old cell phone. Awesome.
I once had Simons Theme and the little victory jingle at the end of a stage in the first game and Rondo of Blood(which goes off like 4-6 times before the call ends).

Creepy, I was humming that as I read this. I'd normally think Bloody Tears myself though :p
Isn't that just essentially Vampire Killer, the first song in the first game, slightly adjusted?
The Metroidvania games are like the Mega Man X series for me. Prior to both of those I thought Castlevania and Mega Man were pretty cool, but Mega Man X 1 and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was where the love for both franchises set in for me

Seriously. Screw you Shao Kahn I'm gonna play Animal Crossing.
I think of the original and wanting the snap controllers.
If I was talking to most people thought I would think of the Metroidvania style games, just because it is more than likely that is what they were talking about.
I prefer the classic formula myself, I found Adventure Rebirth on the Wii really enjoyable, I need to finish that actually.
I strongly suggest fan's of Castlevania's music check these out.
Very nice to both. While Bloody Kisses and Vampire Killer are two of my favorites, I've always been partial to Simon's Theme from IV. Along with Terra's Song from FFVI and a handful of different songs from FFIV soundtracks, it's my most often played song from a game.

I'm not a huge Vania fan (though I'm getting into it nowadays) but I think of the classic 8/16 bit games. I just finished Bloodlines the other day, and I absolutely adored it. What's not to love? It's brilliant.
I never cared for the metroid style games, and two separate attempts to complete Symphony of the Night both ended in boredom. It's a very pretty game with nice music (I love the Colosseum tune) but I just don't have much fun when I play it. I'm planning to try again soon, but what can I say?
Yeah, SotN had some great music. I actually bought the soundtrack.
You're honestly the (I think) only person I've ever heard say they didn't care for SotN. Hope you enjoy it a little more next time you try to play through it.

That's pretty weird given that you liked Bloodlines a lot. What about the game turned you off? It's pretty much perfection across the board. Although I guess that doesn't mean much, there are plenty of games that are hailed as the best of their genre that I don't particularly care for.

Yeah, its unusual I know.
Thanks, I hope so too really. I'll give it a fair shot.

Honestly man, I can't really explain it.
You're right that everything about it is just good. I find no flaw with the game, and I honestly have no complaints.
I just... get bored. Then I put down the game and don't come back to it.
I dunno, it's weird.
