My girlfriend and I saw a pair of these for sale at a mexican restaurant in town and put them on and actually left the store with them. I make her get naked and step on me while she is wearing these...also, Grape pop tarts.

They serve no practical purpose, take time to put on, cost money, and feel uncomfortable. The only reason people wear them is because other people told them to wear it. The only reason some people think ties look good is because they were told to think that way.

Can someone come up with an actual valid reason why it's good to wear a tie?

When I see someone wearing an expensive fancy suit and tie with fancy uncomfortable shoes, I just sigh to myself and lose respect for them. Just another mindless sheep.

For those wondering, I wear the same thing every fucking day, unless the weather is so severe that I need to wear something else. Plain single color T shirt (with no advertisements), cargo shorts (lots of pockets and doesn't constrict body movement if I need to run or something), and tennis shoes. I wear no jewelry.

The only time you may see me wearing a button down shirt or something more fancy than that is if I was forced to do so, for whatever reason. If that happens, I am very upset the entire time I wear it, and I will be angry at whoever forced me to wear it.

I went to a funeral a year ago and I wore a bright green t shirt, shorts and green running shoes. I don't give a fuck about your mindless traditions. I didn't even want to go to the funeral in the first place because funerals are fucking bullshit. I only went because some close family members threatened to disown me if I didn't come.
Dude....just move to an uninhabited island in the middle of the pacific already. It's clear by now, that any single contact with human beings makes you sick. Go to one which has monkeys, so you can still have sex. We'll even pitch in to air lift you your video games and a generator.

I haven't seen anyone made fun because they dress differently, people have made fun of them because they dress poorly while thinking it looks good while ignoring severe practical concerns.

I have no problems with people liking bad stuff, I have problems with people thinking bad stuff is great stuff. I'm not relativistic when it comes to art (Or I wouldn't say that Megaman 2 is a better game than ET)

Also nobody ever said that anyone is inferior so don't get in there.

Then stop insulting people and calling them "sheeple" for wearing neckties or stop losing the respect for people who wear suits. Don't you see how hypocrital and dimmisive you are?

Really dude, all your arguments, all, no matter the topic at hand can be summed in "People only do X because they are told to because I think X sucks and I know better than them".

And that's it. You can't prove it, because you don't have data, and you insist in making everything fit that view even when you are told time and time again that you don't know us better than us.

I mean, I could explain you why ties are aesthetically interesting but what for? You will rant until your cheecks go blue how I'm wrong and how I was really forced into it.

In the end, you are but a Nietsche wannabe. You point the sheep, but do not see the sheep in yourself.

Is the word Stupidious a mix of Stupid AND insidious?

I am all for freedom, until it gets to the point where your freedom makes me lose some of mine. Society is full of issues like that. Some people actually enjoy making others suffer, but that is fortunately not allowed as it would impinge on the others' freedom to not be harmed unless they want to (for the masochists that enjoy it, go ahead).

I am also all for practical restrictions, such as objective issues of hygiene meaning that it makes sense to keep people at least covering their asses in public so I don't need to worry as much about sitting in a public seat.

I also appreciate that my freedom to only want to see sexual organs when I actively want to is valued by society more than your freedom to be in the nude wherever you want to. I would feel more sympathetic if there weren't nudist colonies where you could let it all out.

Those shoes RULE!

I wouldn't wear them, but damned if I don't want to see people wearing them. Ever see someone in a post office trying to stuff something in a box that just won't fit? That's like how everything is for people who wear those shoes. They couldn't open a door without bending over, using a shopping cart is out of the question, as also would be sitting in a restaurant without tripping a few dozen kids. Sideshow Bob must be jealous.

And my two cents: Neckties are awesome and I wear them every chance I get to. Not many people can say they've worn a necktie on a rollercoaster, but I can. Plus if you've ever walked into a club and had a hot girl out of nowhere grab you by your tie to pull you in a corner to makeout, I'd say you are missing out.

If you want to know Inazuma's view of something, just have in mind that he's oblivious to concepts like "context" and "culture".

To him, people exist in a vacuum, and showing consideration for any cultural standards is sign of herd mentality.

1. those shoes may work in mexico, but her is the US, errr, no. maybe on the ski slope???
2. i wear ties. neck and bow ties and fancy three piece suits because:
a. i want to
b. i feel damn good in them
c. i look damn good in them
d. my line of work requires it
e. regardless of what we may think, reality is we are treated according to the way one presents themself (appearances mean everything). I'm not saying that that's fair, but that is how society operates.

I'm more often in a suit until bedtime. I spend the majority of my waking hours dressed up, so needless to say, my casual wardrobe is pretty slim. It's my choice, therefore, that does not fit into the "sheeple" category.

and just for emphasis, the shoes, not appealing.

Dude, that is borderline sexual harassment that I'm missing out on (gladly). I'd rather not have strangers grab my clothes. If the genders were reversed whoever did that (say with a scarf) could be in trouble*, as it is you even recommend it as a reason to wear ties?

Some girls don't control themselves... Good for you that you enjoyed it though.

*I think Keith Apicary could get away with it though :)

I still can't get past the poor grammar and misspelling of the thread title. I'm not sure if it was meant to be ironic.

Those shoes sure are funny though.

Ivo is NOT a fan of random hot girls making out with him.

Hot girls, you have been warned.
