You two might consider doing the rest of us a favor and putting each other on ignore.
Just a friendly suggestion.

One would think so. I've only seen that user make a handful of posts that aren't openly offensive or directly argumentative.Ivo wrote:More seriously now, I don't want to exacerbate the bad feelings here but I would hesitate in considering "and you call yourself an MK fan" an insult, whereas "you are a persistent idiot" seems quite more aggressive to me.
Maybe so. But it certainly doesn't mean it's not worth anyone's time. A LOT of people still played MK3 and enjoyed it. I'm one of those people because I've been a fan of MK since the first arcade game and I appreciate the entire series as a whole. So... in other words "I like the crust, too - not just the white part of the bread."zxqdms wrote:I don't think it's possible to say which fighting games are better unless you explicitly state your goals. From what I've read elsewhere on the web, UMK3 is mainly the MK game considered to be competitive, meaning people are willing to pay to play in tournaments with that game. Apparently MK3 has some balance and/or technical issues that prevent it from being as competitive.
That's not even the worst part. Because of the start button issue, you can't do a random select. At this point, there's no way I'm playing MKII without random select.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Also, Smoke was unable to be fought against because in order to reach him you had to be able to hit the "Start" button. But the programmers at Digital Eclipse made the "Start" button for the in-game menu. So that ruined this version for a lot of people
Look, I agree with you. I like MK3 for what it is, mostly because it reminds me of when it first came out. I played it a lot for SNES. And although I have UMK3 in MAME, I like to play MK3 from time to time as well.Weekend_Warrior wrote:MK3 was/is a pretty good game by itself. It's true that UMK3 is better and the game that MK3 was originally intended to be. But that doesn't mean MK3 is not worth anyone's time, christ!
You mean like the Street Fighter Collection and Capcom Generations 5?Ziggy587 wrote:Imagine a Street Fighter collection that included Street Fighter II and then Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
