Sure, PSN's basic service is free. And granted their premium service doesn't arguably offer enough to warrant the money. Either way, though, in order to use said service - free or not - you sign an agreement with the company that says Sony agrees to provide you with a service in exchange for playing by their rules.
Well, everybody who is playing by these rules, agreeing to Sony's terms are being slapped in the face right now.
While MS (or M$ which I guess is the hip way of typing it nowadays) is no better or worse a company than Sony, the fact remains that while, yes, I'm paying $50+ a year to play games online, stream Last.FM, watch ESPN3, and use Netflix, I've
NEVER in the last 3 1/2 years of using their premium service had so much as a single bandwidth hiccup that wasn't my own fault. Sony, free or not, can't say the same.
