That is true!! I hexedit the two emus and the name are the only different.

Nice investigative work and wow, that's really awful that he would do something like that. I did look at the eboot size and noticed that they were different between Brunni's and GenesisVid's and thought maybe he did really re-compile stuff but it's possible that I made a mistake and looked at the wrong version to compare with.

DAAAAA!! wrote:DGEN (Genessis) lags a lot and for some reason your guy turns invisible for a few seconds when he gets hit :\ .. I'm not sure why.. and that happens on most games

race(Neo Geo pocket color) also works great... well, i think that all neo geo pocket color emulation sucks because that stick thingy is so unique... but that's not the PSP's fault though..

out of all the emulators the ones i was really looking forward to play were the NES, Super Nintendo, Genesis, GBA and mame(the mame one didn't even work!)

1st of all, stop using DGEN and get Picodrive. It just runs better.
(BTW, the guy turning invisible has to do with the frame skip setting.)

I really like RACE!. But while I do prefer the NGPC micro-switch stick, the PSP directions are more than adequate.

As for MAME, I wouldn't even try that. But you CAN at least use the CPS1, CPS2 and NEO GEO MVS emulators. I think there's a decent FinalBurn emulator as well, but I haven't tried it in a while.

have you tried emus on other handhelds? trust me, the psp is heaven sent when it comes to emulators. You might have to try various emus and change options, but when you do its great. and is not like this is exclusive to the psp, you also have to do the same with other platforms when emulating.

In my experience, the PSP emulators are actually stellar. No issues at all, except with MAME. Can't get that sucker to work. :(

I have to say that for me, emulation on the PSP is amazing. I run 5.50GEN-D on my 1000. If you guys are having problems with SNES emulation I'd suggest you use Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 which I believe is the latest version. If you have problems running games with that, try boosting the clockspeed from 222Mhz to 300/333Mhz. The only problems I've had are rare graphical glitches which are usually fixed by changing the software/hardware rendering to accurate.

NES seems good. Genesis no problems. TG16 seems good. I haven't really tried SMS. Had no luck with SCD. C64 and Coleco are rock solid. PS1 works.

No, I don't think the emu's suck.

My sentiments exactly.

personally i feel that the psp solves most of my issues. i really don't like the snes emulators but for NES, NGPC, GB, GBC, GBA, and ps1 i can't go wrong. i have yet to give any genesis out only because i fear it will be annoying to deal with the controls. i could be wrong though since most games for the genesis only uses 3 buttons.

Had no luck with SCD.

I just stared up Snatcher and it seems to run pretty decent?
