It does have the smoothing option. Open up the "dashboard" menu or whatever during a PSX game. PSX games look amazing through my PS3!

Pretty sure that just smooths out the overall display, not the textures. It does look good though... I could be wrong.

I find that the 360 makes original Xbox games look a bit better but not a big difference at all. It's probably just because I have it hooked up to 1080p thus making (compatible) Xbox originals be 1080i. But I found some Xbox originals to look better in 480p than in 1080i (Morrowind is an example)

back when my 360 actually used to play original xbox titles ( ), i would feel like the colors were very washed out at 1080i. plug them into an oxbox with component cables at 480p, however, and everything looked amazing.
