1987 - Birth/NES (It was around before I was born)
1989 - Gameboy (It was my brothers, but it handed down to me later on)
1991 - SNES (Christmas Gift)
1996 - PS1 (10th Birthday gift)
1997 (or 98) - eBay was introduced, I got rid of every system that I owned, because I want some money to buy more PS1 games (I was young and stupid, I did not know any better)
2000 - N64 (We bought it for Goldeneye and WWF Wrestlemania 2000)
2001 - PS2 (My dad bought it for me, just out of the blew, I thought he was joking, but it happened)
2002 - Genesis (thats where the collecting seriously began, and I haven't looked back)
------ Dreamcast (Traded a crappy DVD player for it, and STILL have it from this day!!!)

Then afterwards it was all a blur, I started repurchasing all game systems that I sold in the past

I can't really remember the years, but i can sort of remember the order. I usually sold the previous console to buy the next one on the list, lots of regrets now.

Everything from the PSone onwards I still own, and lately I'm thinking about getting a 3DO or a 2600. At some point I'd like to get a NES and a SNES just to complete the set of mainstream consoles

Mine is a little weird since I skipped a console generation in favor of becoming a PC gamer and other than playing at friend's places I pretty much skipped the current generation. Not going to count the old consoles I went back and bought when I started collecting, just what I bought as it came out. Luckily I've always had friends who had all of the systems I did not so I never missed out on much.
