I've begun to notice this as well. I definitely agree with their reviews being shit. What do you guys think of Kotaku?

Their moniker of "Slowtaku" is well-deserved. They tend to either talk about painfully unimportant things, or things that stopped being relevant weeks ago.

I tend to think that Destructoid's reviews are the same garbage we read a million times over at other websites, but with lower scores. Usually with a lot of typos.

(I'll tell you though, one thing that really irritates me in Destructoid - it's probably the same at other websites, but this is the only one I read regularly - is when they feature a news story about a game that came out like a month ago and ask: "What about you guys? Still playing game X?" No, I'm not. I bought like 30 other games in the meantime, because games are all my money is ever spent on and I don't even care to play them.)

I won't comment too much on Kotaku because I never actually took the time to read them. Sometimes I'm led to their pages, but they seem all over the place, to me it looks like relevance to videogames is not even a pre-requisite to show up on their website.

I used to enjoy Kotaku, but I've been getting further and further away from it. Not because of the 'Slowtaku' shit, just because I expect them to focus on video games. Anime and Comics are fair game to me, simply because they are such common fodder for video games - plus they fit into the otaku part of Kotaku.

I'm alright when they do a round-up of non-VG related news, but when an article is focused solely on a non-VG topic... yeah, it's pretty stupid.

Destructoid is another thing I've started to grow apart from. I loved it, but ever since Anthony Burch left, I just feel like the place lost 60% of the reason I went there. I used to enjoy Sterling's videos, but now... not so much. And now with J.Holmes showing up less and less lately... if he leaves, so will I.

I left that site for the same reason and never looked back. In hindsight, it was probably a good move for the time as the site went completely downhill from there.
Same here. GameSpot was really cool at one time, but since that incident things literally went down the shitter. Not only were the reviews bull, the forums are filled to the brim with fanboys and the like.

I like how right after you posted "clean with q-tip & alcohol" some guy said "just blow on it".

And I just changed my password to something I won't remember after 15 minutes. When I say I'm done with a site, I'm done.
