I've always been a fan of the Dreamcast.
There's a game console that runs off of Shreddies instead of voltage? Cool!

I still think the model 1 Genesis is the sexiest looking console ever made. It looked futuristic and powerful and was jet-black.

I always thought the Famicom was pretty hideous honestly.

As for cartridges, I like the classic NES carts. Sure they're a waste of plastic since they only need to be half that size they look great on display.

Worst cartridges, I'm not sure. There's a lot of terrible ones.

Jaguar cartridges are by far the worst. I am also not a huge fan of the Turbo Grafx 16 design.

Come to think of it, I think the Jaguar is the worst looking console, worst looking games, and by far the worst controller design ever.

Best Looking Console: PS2 (fat). It looks like a mega powerful computing beast from awesomeville.

Worst Looking Console: Playstation 1 (original grey model). It looks like a cheap plastic brick or something. And the system menu had that awful paintball thing going on.

Best Looking Cartridge: N64. I don't know why, but I just like the look, even though they don't have top labels.

Worst Looking Cartridge: Jaguar. What's with the bendy thing?

Best Looking Controller: Xbox (controller S). I really like black consoles, so a black controller was bound to win. I like the black and green color scheme.

Worst Looking Controller: Gamecube (the purple one). With this controller, it's no wonder GC got such a kiddy reputation. And besides, purple is an awful color for a game system.

Best
Console: Sega Saturn Model 1. Ever since I first saw it in EGM back when it first came about, just..wow. To me, that thing looked like serious business. PS2 Slim comes in a close second because it's just so damn sleek.
Cartridge: Sega Megadrive. Those had the best artwork IMO and the shape was cool. :D
Controller: Sega Saturn (the one that came with the Model 2 in the US)

Worst
Console: Everyone says Atari Jaguar. That one is obvious. How about the NEC Supergrafx?
Cartridge: Sega Master System. Sure, the Jaguar carts look..well, odd but at least the damn things had artwork on them.
Controller: I'd say something like Colecovision, but that's not even in the same category as most controllers. I really don't like the N64 controllers. There's not a single thing about their design that I like.

The best looking controller is either the Genesis six button or the Saturn controller

I know the PS2 version is almost identical, but this pic looks damn sexy:

I also appreciate the classic simplicity of the NES controller

The ugliest controller has to be the coleco super action controler
Image
I also find the N64 controller rather unappealing.
Image
I remember the first time I looked at this controller I wondered, "how the hell do I hold this ugly monstrosity?"

The best looking cartridge is Sonic 3 plugged into Sonic & Knuckles. Lock-on technology for the win!
Image
The ugliest cartridge is the hi-meg genesis cartridge. It looks like a yellow tumor growing out of the formerly beautiful sega cartridge.

As for best and worst looking console, I'll basically just repeat what I said in the last thread:

I'm still in awe at how lovely the PC-FX system looks. Pure plastic beauty.
